Data Releases

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

2023 NSHM western United States GPS velocities 2023 NSHM western United States GPS velocities

Global positioning system (GPS) data were compiled and processed to support models for seismic hazard assessment that will be included in the 2023 USGS National Seismic Hazard Model (NSHM). This data release presents the updated GPS velocity field for the western United States. Data processing centers and field networks, seven in total, supported this work, and solutions include both...

Gross primary production estimates and associated light, sediment, and water quality data from the Colorado River below Glen Canyon Dam Gross primary production estimates and associated light, sediment, and water quality data from the Colorado River below Glen Canyon Dam

These data were compiled to model the effects of flow regime and bed grain size distributions on rates of gross primary production (GPP) in the Colorado River below Glen Canyon Dam, AZ, USA. The objectives of our study were to quantify daily and weekly scale effects of an experimental flow regime on GPP in the Colorado River. The experimental flow was conducted at Glen Canyon Dam from...

Model parameter input files to compare the influence of channels in fringing coral reefs on alongshore variations in wave-driven runup along the shoreline Model parameter input files to compare the influence of channels in fringing coral reefs on alongshore variations in wave-driven runup along the shoreline

An extensive set of physics-based XBeach Non-hydrostatic hydrodynamic model simulations (with input files here included) were used to evaluate the influence of shore-normal reef channels on flooding along fringing reef-lined coasts, specifically during extreme wave conditions when the risk for coastal flooding and the resulting impact to coastal communities is greatest. These input files...

Interpolated hydrogeologic framework and digitized datasets for upstate New York study areas Interpolated hydrogeologic framework and digitized datasets for upstate New York study areas

This data release contains digital hydrogeologic datasets compiled for eight valley-fill aquifer systems in upstate New York. The data sets include input data necessary to create and interpolate the hydrogeologic framework of the aquifers and surrounding till-covered uplands. Input data is provided as point feature classes and georeferenced files of previously published reports along...

Airborne magnetic and radiometric survey, Columbia, South Carolina and surrounds, 2020 Airborne magnetic and radiometric survey, Columbia, South Carolina and surrounds, 2020

This data release provides digital flight line data for a high-resolution airborne magnetic and radiometric survey over Columbia, South Carolina, and the surrounding region. The airborne data collection was funded by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Earth Mapping Resource Initiative (Earth MRI) with goals of better understanding placer deposits containing critical mineral resources...

Data for leaf photosynthesis and net ecosystem exchange of CO2 and CH4 from wetland forest, marsh, and mudflats under simulated ambient and elevated atmospheric carbon dioxide (2013-2014) Data for leaf photosynthesis and net ecosystem exchange of CO2 and CH4 from wetland forest, marsh, and mudflats under simulated ambient and elevated atmospheric carbon dioxide (2013-2014)

This study evaluated the net ecosystem exchange of CO2 and CH4 from experimental wetland mesocosms established in elevated CO2 and ambient CO2 glasshouses at the U.S. Geological Survey’s Wetland and Aquatic Research Center (Lafayette, Louisiana). The study duration was approximately two years, and these data represent measured and calculated data from four time points, which the...
