Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

CE–QUAL–W2 water-quality models for Klamath Straits Drain recirculation scenarios, Klamath River, Oregon, 2006–15 CE–QUAL–W2 water-quality models for Klamath Straits Drain recirculation scenarios, Klamath River, Oregon, 2006–15
A hydrodynamic, water-temperature, and water-quality model (CE-QUAL-W2; Wells, 2020) of the Link-Keno reach of the Klamath River (Oregon) was used for calendar years 2006–15 to run a series of base and recirculation scenarios. These model runs were implemented to test alternative scenarios for routing some of the Klamath Straits Drain discharge into Ady Canal. The model scenarios were...
Area of habitat still above water per decade of projected sea level rise for islands in two study areas off Florida's Gulf coast Area of habitat still above water per decade of projected sea level rise for islands in two study areas off Florida's Gulf coast
Sand beaches are dynamic, making it difficult to accurately predict habitat loss from sea level rise (SLR). We mapped sand beach habitat based on two datasets - a remotely sensed land cover and hand-digitized aerial imagery collected concurrently with digital elevation data. Data include the predicted area of beach habitat still above water (units = number of pixels) from SLR per decade...
Digital elevation model and derivative datasets to support the integration of stormwater drainage into the Washington, D.C. Stormwater StreamStats application (ver. 2.0, February 2026) Digital elevation model and derivative datasets to support the integration of stormwater drainage into the Washington, D.C. Stormwater StreamStats application (ver. 2.0, February 2026)
This dataset was created to support the Washington D.C. StreamStats project funded by the Washington D.C. Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE). The dataset contains digital elevation model (DEM), flow direction and catchment layers that were conditioned using Washingtons D.C.’s stormwater network layer. The data are hosted online as a component of the USGS StreamStats web...
Analysis of mitochondrial DNA sequence data from Myotis lucifugus and Myotis occultus Analysis of mitochondrial DNA sequence data from Myotis lucifugus and Myotis occultus
The validity of Myotis occultus as a species unique from M. lucifugus has been a source of debate. Most recently, many authorities treat M. occultus as a distinct species, at least in part because a previous study showed that M. occultus and M. l. carissima (the subspecies that occurs in closest proximity to M. occultus) form separate monophyletic clades based on sequences of two...
Basin characteristics data for the Washington, D.C. StreamStats application Basin characteristics data for the Washington, D.C. StreamStats application
This data was created to support the Washington D.C. StreamStats project funded by the Washington D.C. Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE). The data release contains high-resolution (1-meter) land cover data layers for Washington D.C. and its tributaries that represent canopy cover, canopy cover with building and road coverage removed (“pervious canopy”), impervious cover, slope...
Seepage Runs of Hālawa Stream, Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi: December 2021 - June 2022 Seepage Runs of Hālawa Stream, Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi: December 2021 - June 2022
This data release contains four seepage runs conducted along selected reaches of South Hālawa Stream, North Hālawa Stream, and Hālawa Stream, Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi between December 2021 and June 2022. The data release has four child items that each consist of the following files: (1) a metadata xml file describing the child-item files and data attributes, (2) an annotated map showing the...
Imagery, photogrammetry, and meteorological data from December 2021 to December 2022, Grand Falls Dune Field, Arizona Imagery, photogrammetry, and meteorological data from December 2021 to December 2022, Grand Falls Dune Field, Arizona
Grand Falls dune field (GFDF) is located on the Navajo Nation, ~70 km NE of Flagstaff, AZ. This active dune field displays a range of morphologies, including barchans, smaller dunes, and ripples, and is bimodal in composition. The felsic component is likely derived from the Little Colorado River, and the mafic component (basaltic grains) is locally sourced from nearby cinder cones [1]...
Minisparker and chirp seismic reflection data acquired offshore San Francisco and Pacifica during USGS field activity S-16-10-NC Minisparker and chirp seismic reflection data acquired offshore San Francisco and Pacifica during USGS field activity S-16-10-NC
Chirp sub-bottom and single-channel minisparker seismic reflection data were collected by the U.S. Geological Survey in August 2010, offshore San Mateo County, California. Data were collected aboard the R/V Snavely during field activity S-16-10-NC. This work was funded by the USGS Coastal and Marine Geology Program's Coastal and Marine Catastrophic Hazards project. The high-resolution...
Magnetotelluric sounding data across the Idaho Batholith, Payette National Forest, Idaho, 1989 Magnetotelluric sounding data across the Idaho Batholith, Payette National Forest, Idaho, 1989
This dataset includes the magnetotelluric (MT) sounding data collected in 1989 across the Idaho Batholith, Payette National Forest, Idaho, by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The primary focus is on geologic elements that relate to the Late Cretaceous Idaho batholith geometry and the development of the Yellow Pine mining district and Stibnite mining area. Twenty MT soundings along one...
