Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

The North Delta Routing and Survival Management Tool The North Delta Routing and Survival Management Tool
Understanding how routing modifications influence survival of juvenile salmon is complex because reach-specific survival and routing at key river junctions in the North Delta each have a different relationship with river flow. Therefore, to facilitate understanding of how routing modifications at key river junctions influence through-Delta survival, we developed this spreadsheet model to...
Gravity Data in the eastern Mojave Desert, California and Nevada Gravity Data in the eastern Mojave Desert, California and Nevada
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) collected gravity data in the eastern Mojave Desert, California and Nevada as an aid to characterizing the regional geologic framework. Gravity stations were located between approximately lat 35°10’ and 35°50’ N. and long 115°05’ and 115°50’ W. and were distributed from west to east across parts of Shadow Valley, Clark Mountain Range, Mescal Range...
The U.S. Inland Creel and Angler Survey Catalog (CreelCat): A Database and Interactive Tool for Inland Fisheries Management and Research (Depreciated April 2024) The U.S. Inland Creel and Angler Survey Catalog (CreelCat): A Database and Interactive Tool for Inland Fisheries Management and Research (Depreciated April 2024)
The U.S. Inland Creel and Angler Survey Catalog (CreelCat) contains data compiled from 14,729 creel and angler surveys conducted by state natural resource management agencies (including Washington DC and Puerto Rico) in inland waters across the United States. Data is are contained in eight .csv files which contain information about survey characteristics (Survey_Data.csv), angler effort...
Floating Electromagnetic Surveys from the Lower Delaware River Basin Floating Electromagnetic Surveys from the Lower Delaware River Basin
Electromagnetic (EM) geophysical methods provide information about the bulk electrical conductivity of the subsurface. EM data has been widely used to investigate aquifers and geologic structures. In the following study, the United States Geological Survey conducted a boat-towed, waterborne transient electromagnetic (FloaTEM) survey to examine conductivity within the subsurface of the...
RDAVT RDAVT
RDAVT.r is an R Shiny-based app used to estimate immobile porosity, mobile porosity, and the mass transfer rate coefficient in dual-domain porosity media. The app allows for interactive fitting of the fluid versus bulk conductivity hysteresis curve from electrical tracer experiments using a semi-analytic graphical approach.
Evaluation of pore-like features in sedimentary organic matter Evaluation of pore-like features in sedimentary organic matter
Research examining organic-matter hosted porosity has significantly increased during the last ten years due to greater focus on understanding hydrocarbon migration and storage in source-rock reservoirs, and technological advances in scanning electron microscopy (SEM) capabilities. The examination of nanometer-scale organic-matter hosted porosity by SEM requires the preparation of...
Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) in U.S. Tapwater: Comparison of Public-Supply and Underserved Private-Well Exposures and Associated Health Implications Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) in U.S. Tapwater: Comparison of Public-Supply and Underserved Private-Well Exposures and Associated Health Implications
This software involves files to fit the statistical models described in Smalling et al. Specifically, there are R scripts and associated stan model files (when appropriate) for comparing PFAS concentrations among public-supply and private-wells and as a function of geospatial predictor variables. There is also an R script for modeling the number of PFAS chemicals detected among water...
Measurements of velocity and bathymetry in the Ashtabula River near Ashtabula, Ohio, July 12–14, 2022 Measurements of velocity and bathymetry in the Ashtabula River near Ashtabula, Ohio, July 12–14, 2022
These data are depth-averaged velocities measured by an acoustic Doppler current profiler (ADCP), as well as continuous depth-averaged velocities from a stationary location measured with an acoustic Doppler velocity meter (ADVM). These data were collected from the July 12-14, 2022, survey of the Ashtabula River near Ashtabula, Ohio. The location of the ADCP data are from approximately 1...
SSEBop Evapotranspiration Data from 2012 to Present: Dekadal (10-day), Monthly, Seasonal, and Annual Time Scales SSEBop Evapotranspiration Data from 2012 to Present: Dekadal (10-day), Monthly, Seasonal, and Annual Time Scales
On vegetated landscapes, Evapotranspiration (ET) can be simplified as the combination of evaporation from the soil and transpiration from vegetation. Actual ET (ETa) is produced using the Operational Simplified Surface Energy Balance (SSEBop) model Version 6 (Senay et al., 2013, 2020, 2023) from 2012 to Present using a data stream from the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS...
