Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Fishes of the Harney Basin revisited: A contemporary assessment of the distribution of fish fauna throughout the Harney Basin from 1990 to 2019 (ver. 2.0, April 2022) Fishes of the Harney Basin revisited: A contemporary assessment of the distribution of fish fauna throughout the Harney Basin from 1990 to 2019 (ver. 2.0, April 2022)
We compiled electrofishing and habitat data sampled from 1990 to 2019 in the Harney Basin by the US Geological Survey (USGS), Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) and the High Desert Partnership (HDP) to describe native and non-native fish distributions and their habitat associations. USGS collected eDNA data in 2019 to refine the known distributions of common carp (Cyprinus...
Selenium concentrations in Yuma Ridgway's Rails occupying managed and unmanaged emergent marshes at the Salton Sea Selenium concentrations in Yuma Ridgway's Rails occupying managed and unmanaged emergent marshes at the Salton Sea
Yuma Ridgway's rail (Rallus obsoletus yumanensis, hereafter, "rail" are an endangered species for which patches of emergent marsh within the Salton Sea watershed comprise a substantial portion of habitat for the species' disjointed range in the southwestern United States. These areas of emergent marsh include: 1) marshes managed by federal (particularly the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service...
Okanogan Basin Pacific lamprey eDNA detections and translocations for 2012-2020 (ver. 1.1, April 2022) Okanogan Basin Pacific lamprey eDNA detections and translocations for 2012-2020 (ver. 1.1, April 2022)
Prior to the initiation of translocation efforts in 2017, Pacific lamprey (Entosphenus tridentatus) were last documented in the Okanogan river subbasin in 2010. It appears as if lamprey were extirpated in the Okanogan subbasin some time shortly after that. However, until 2017, monitoring and management actions for lamprey were minimal in the Okanogan subbasin. This lack of monitoring has...
Aerial Imagery of the North Carolina Coast: 2020-02-08 to 2020-02-09 Aerial Imagery of the North Carolina Coast: 2020-02-08 to 2020-02-09
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Remote Sensing Coastal Change (RSCC) project collects aerial imagery along coastal swaths, in response to storm events, with optimized endlap/sidelap and precise position information to create high-resolution orthomosaics, three-dimensional (3D) point clouds, and digital elevation/surface models (DEMs/DSMs) using Structure-from-Motion (SfM)...

This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) data release provides phytoplankton data collected from Stagecoach Reservoir, Colorado, during the summer months, July through September, 2017-18 and 2022-23. The data were collected by the USGS, in cooperation with the Upper Yampa Water Conservancy District and Colorado Parks and Wildlife. All data are reported as raw calculated values and are not...
Basin Characteristics and Streamflow Statistics for Selected Gages, Alaska, USA (ver. 2.0, September, 2022) Basin Characteristics and Streamflow Statistics for Selected Gages, Alaska, USA (ver. 2.0, September, 2022)
This data release documents the data used for the associated publication "Evaluating hydrologic region assignment techniques for ungaged watersheds in Alaska, USA" (Barnhart and others, 2022) The data sets within this release are stored in 14 files: (1) Streamflow observations and sites used. (2) Statistically estimated streamflow values computed for each site. (3) Streamflow statistics...
Structure-from-Motion photos and derived point clouds from bluffs in Miami Park, MI, July 19, 2021 Structure-from-Motion photos and derived point clouds from bluffs in Miami Park, MI, July 19, 2021
Images were collected using a remotely piloted unoccupied aerial system over the bluffs of the eastern shore of Lake Michigan in Miami Park rural residential area, Allegan County, MI. Images were collected on July 19, 2021, by Richard Becker, University of Toledo, and cover an extent between south of Lakestone Dr. to the north, and south of A St. to the south. Images were collected to...
Estimated crop irrigation water use withdrawals in Willcox Groundwater Basin, Arizona for 2020 Estimated crop irrigation water use withdrawals in Willcox Groundwater Basin, Arizona for 2020
Observations of irrigated agricultural land within the Willcox Groundwater Basin in Arizona. Crops were verified in situ twice in 2020, first on May 20th and again on August 12th; based on digitized field boundaries. Field boundaries were digitized from U.S. Department of Agriculture, National Agricultural Imagery Program images dated 2019 and supplemented with Landsat and Sentinel2...
Water-quality results from a wastewater reuse study: Inorganic and organic compositions of wastewater effluent and select urban and agricultural water types during rain-induced runoff, Chickasha, Oklahoma, 2018-2019 Water-quality results from a wastewater reuse study: Inorganic and organic compositions of wastewater effluent and select urban and agricultural water types during rain-induced runoff, Chickasha, Oklahoma, 2018-2019
Oklahoma State University South-Central Research Station (SCRS) was used to conduct research to understand the chemical composition of various water types and their potential environmental and human health effects. The study area provided the opportunity to study five water types: (1) receiving surface water (Washita River), (2) urban stormwater, (3) wastewater treatment plant effluent...
