This data release includes Lake Ontario prey fish data including species captured, relative abundance, spatial distribution, size structure, and age data from the benthic prey fish and yellow perch bottom trawl surveys, 1978 through 2024. Data from 1978 - 2014 are from U.S. waters of Lake Ontario while data from 2015 - 2024 include both U.S. and Canadian waters of Lake Ontario. Details...
The influence of local and landscape effects on Piping Plover nest daily survival rates The influence of local and landscape effects on Piping Plover nest daily survival rates
We examined the effects of local and landscape level metrics on Piping Plover (Charadrius melodus melodus) daily nest survival rates using a long-term dataset from coastal New Jersey. Local-level metrics thought to be important determinants of nest success were collected from 1993 to 2016. Landscape metrics were examined over a from 2006 to 2016.
Shorebird survey data from Cat and Ship Island, MS, 2012-2023 Shorebird survey data from Cat and Ship Island, MS, 2012-2023
This dataset contains shorebird survey data conducted before (pre) and after (post) barrier island restoration of Cat and Ship Island, Mississippi. The Mississippi barrier islands provide critical habitat for migratory and resident shorebirds, including many federally threatened and endangered (T&E) species. Long-term monitoring of shorebirds before and after restoration is essential to...
Airborne magnetic and radiometric survey, Sierra Madre-Elkhead Mountains-Medicine Bow Mountains region, Wyoming and Colorado, 2023-2024 Airborne magnetic and radiometric survey, Sierra Madre-Elkhead Mountains-Medicine Bow Mountains region, Wyoming and Colorado, 2023-2024
This data release provides digital flight line data for a high-resolution airborne magnetic and radiometric survey over the Sierra Madre-Elkhead Mountains-Medicine Bow Mountains region of southern Wyoming and northern Colorado. The airborne survey was funded by the Earth Mapping Resources Initiative. The survey was designed to meet complementary needs related to geologic mapping and
High-resolution orthoimagery and digital surface model of Cougar Reservoir, Oregon, December 2023 High-resolution orthoimagery and digital surface model of Cougar Reservoir, Oregon, December 2023
In cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) surveyed ground control points and coordinated aerial photograph acquisition of Cougar Reservoir, a multi-purpose reservoir in western Oregon impounded by the 158-meter ([m]; 518-foot [ft]) tall Cougar Dam. Aerial photographs were acquired by the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) in December 2023 when...
Topographic Survey of Select Erosional Features within Fern Ridge Lake, Oregon, 2023 and 2024 Topographic Survey of Select Erosional Features within Fern Ridge Lake, Oregon, 2023 and 2024
Topographic data were collected along select erosional features within or adjacent to channels exposed in Fern Ridge Lake, Oregon, in 2023 and 2024 during low pool. Measurements were focused on features that displayed evidence of past or ongoing fluvial erosion and included landforms such as rills, gulleys and channel segments with knickpoints. The survey data were collected during...

Developing a land change monitoring capability and supporting training data strategy for select international sites: First Outputs Developing a land change monitoring capability and supporting training data strategy for select international sites: First Outputs
The monitoring of landscape change is widely recognized as an important component towards understanding how the Earth changes and the impacts of, and to, human societies. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center has been developing a monitoring capability suitable for monitoring land change along with climate-related factors towards the long...
MODFLOW–6 model of the Shell Valley aquifer, Belcourt, North Dakota, 1980-2022 MODFLOW–6 model of the Shell Valley aquifer, Belcourt, North Dakota, 1980-2022
A MODFLOW-6 groundwater flow model of the Shell Valley aquifer near the Turtle Mountain Band of the Chippewa Indians land area representation in northern North Dakota was constructed to improve the understanding and management of the water-supply resources. The model area included sub-watersheds containing the extent of the Shell Valley aquifer approximately between the towns of St. John...
