New York Water Science Center
Data and Tools
Continuous and discrete surface-water, groundwater, and water-quality data are collected to provide long-term hydrologic records critical to investigating hydrology, modeling climate-change, evaluating natural and anthropogenic changes in the hydrologic regime, and providing information on water availability to water managers.
USGS StreamStats
StreamStats is a Web-based Geographic Information Systems (GIS) application that provides users with access to an assortment of analytical tools that are useful for a variety of water-resources planning and management purposes.

New York Water DataElevation raster, Morris Lake (Newton Reservoir), New Jersey, 2018
This dataset contains a bathymetric map of Morris Lake in the form of a raster grid of elevation in feet above the North American Vertical Datum of 1988.
Geospatial Bathymetry Dataset and elevation-area-capacity table for Morris Lake (Newton Reservoir), New Jersey, 2018
Morris Lake, also known as Newton Reservoir, has been the source of drinking water for the Town of Newton, New Jersey, since the early 1900s. Although Morris Lake has been used as a source of drinking water for many years, its capacity was previously unknown. In April 2018, the U.S. Geological Survey and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection conducted a bathymetric sur
Depth contours, Morris Lake (Newton Reservoir), New Jersey, 2018
This dataset contains a map of the bathymetric contours of Morris Lake (Newton Reservoir) at 2-foot intervals of depth.
Quality-assurance points, Morris Lake (Newton Reservoir), New Jersey, 2018
This dataset contains the point depth measurements used for quality assurance of the bathymetric survey of Morris Lake conducted in April 2018.
Water surface elevation time series for Morris Lake (Newton Reservoir), New Jersey, April 23 and 24, 2018
This dataset contains time series of water surface elevations for Morris Lake during a bathymetric survey of Morris Lake conducted in April 2018.
Elevation-area-capacity tables for Morris Lake (Newton Reservoir), New Jersey, 2018
This dataset contains elevation-area-capacity tables computed from a bathymetric survey of Morris Lake conducted in April 2018.
Elevation contours, Morris Lake (Newton Reservoir), New Jersey, 2018
This dataset contains a map of the bathymetric contours of Morris Lake (Newton Reservoir) at 2-foot intervals of elevation.
Data for assessing the status of resident fish communities in the Eighteenmile Creek Area of Concern, New York
The dataset is composed of two data tables containing information from boat electrofishing surveys of two tributaries to Lake Ontario, Eighteenmile Creek and Oak Orchard Creek during June 2019. The first data table contains fish collection information and the second data table contains information on the sampled reaches.
Lake Ontario Nearshore Nutrient Study (LONNS), 2018, Lake Ontario, New York
From April through September of 2018, water-quality data were collected at 35 locations from select tributaries, embayments, and nearshore lake locations along New York's portion of Lake Ontario in support of the 2018 Cooperative Science and Monitoring Initiative, the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, and the Lakewide Action Management Plan. These data include environmental, rep
Brook trout toxicity data from bioassays conducted in Western Adirondack Streams, 2001-03 and 2015-17
This dataset is composed of a single data table containing survival data and ancillary measurements for brook trout bioassays conducted in streams of the Western Adirondack Mountains during 2001-03 and 2015-17. At each stream site, 4 replicate bottles, each containing five young-of-year brook trout, are exposed to ambient stream waters for approximately one month during spring.
Horizontal-to-Vertical Spectral Ratio Soundings and Depth-to-Bedrock Data for Geohydrology and Water Quality Investigation of the Unconsolidated Aquifers in the Enfield Creek Valley, Town of Enfield, Tompkins County, New York, April 2013 - August 2015
From April 2013 to August 2015, the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the Town of Enfield and the Tompkins County Planning Department, collected horizontal-to-vertical seismic soundings at 69 locations in the Enfield Creek valley to help determine thickness of the unconsolidated deposits and depth to bedrock. The HVSR technique, commonly referred to as the passive-seismic metho
Emerging contaminant data at wastewater treatment facilities, municipal water supplies, surface water and lake sites in the northeastern United States, 2009-2018
Over 300 samples were collected in New York, Vermont, and Massachusetts from wastewater treatment facilities (20 locations), drinking water facilities (9 locations), streams (53 locations), lakes (2 locations), a bay (1 location), and a POCIS (Polar Organic Chemical Integrative Sampler) blank sample between April 2009 and October 2018.
