Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Inorganic Concentration Results for Assessment of Mixed Organic/Inorganic Chemical and Biological Exposures in North Dakota and South Dakota Tapwater, 2019 Inorganic Concentration Results for Assessment of Mixed Organic/Inorganic Chemical and Biological Exposures in North Dakota and South Dakota Tapwater, 2019
This data set reports results for inorganic constituents analyzed at the Redox Chemistry Laboratory in Boulder, Colorado, for the 2019 tapwater study conducted in North Dakota and South Dakota, USA. This project is part of the U.S. Geological Survey, Ecosystems Mission Area, Environmental Health Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Program.
Underwater temperature on off-shore coral reefs of the Florida Keys, U.S.A. Underwater temperature on off-shore coral reefs of the Florida Keys, U.S.A.
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Coral Reef Ecosystems Studies project provides science that helps resource managers tasked with the stewardship of coral reef resources. Coral reef organisms are very sensitive to high and low water-temperature extremes. Therefore, it is critical to precisely know water temperatures experienced by corals and associated plants and animals that live in the...
Dataset for mineral resource inventory of North Dakota Dataset for mineral resource inventory of North Dakota
This data release contains the geospatial resources that were used by the USGS to compile the mineral resource inventory for the state of North Dakota, developed by the Mineral Resource Program (MRP) staff of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) at the request of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). The mineral resources inventory was published as a USGS open-file report and can be accessed...
Attribution of Chessie BIBI and fish sampling data to NHDPlusV2 Catchments within the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Attribution of Chessie BIBI and fish sampling data to NHDPlusV2 Catchments within the Chesapeake Bay Watershed
This data release links fish survey data from a suite of programs in the Chesapeake Bay watershed as well the benthic macroinvertebrate sites included in the Chesapeake Bay Basin-wide Index of Biotic Integrity (Chessie BIBI) developed by the Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin (ICPRB) and available from the Chesapeake Bay Program. The data set contains site name, survey...
Groundwater-quality data in the Modesto-Turlock-Merced Domestic-Supply Aquifer Study Unit, 2020-2021: Results from the California GAMA Priority Basin Project Groundwater-quality data in the Modesto-Turlock-Merced Domestic-Supply Aquifer Study Unit, 2020-2021: Results from the California GAMA Priority Basin Project
The U.S. Geological Survey collected groundwater samples from 71 wells used for domestic and small system drinking water supplies in Stanislaus and Merced counties of California during 2020-2021. The wells were sampled for the Modesto-Turlock-Merced Domestic-Supply Aquifer Study Unit of the State Water Resources Control Board Groundwater Ambient Monitoring and Assessment (GAMA) Program...
2020 Niobrara River Topobathymetric Lidar Validation – USGS Field Survey Data 2020 Niobrara River Topobathymetric Lidar Validation – USGS Field Survey Data
U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) scientists conducted field data collection efforts between August 17th and 28th, 2020 over a large stretch of the Niobrara River in Nebraska using high accuracy surveying technologies. The work was initiated as an effort to validate commercially acquired topobathymetric light detection and ranging (lidar) data. The goal was to compare and validate the...
Total and Methyl Mercury Water and Fish Concentrations within Everglades National Park Total and Methyl Mercury Water and Fish Concentrations within Everglades National Park
The data in this data release includes results from the analysis of water and fish from 76 sites in the Everglades National Park (ENP). Water and particulate matter samples were collected from 2008 to 2018 and analyzed for total mercury (THg) and methylmercury (MeHg). Filtered water samples were also analyzed for dissolved organic carbon (DOC), specific ultraviolet absorbance (SUVA), and...
Mean bed elevations of waterbodies on the Atchafalaya River floodplain Mean bed elevations of waterbodies on the Atchafalaya River floodplain
Waterbodies that exhibit persistent water and lack trees within the majority of its area are defined as open waterbodies by the National Hydrography Dataset (NHD, USGS, 2011). The data presented here were created to determine the volume of water for open waterbodies on the floodplain of the Atchafalaya River Basin. Open waterbodies and their surficial geometry were identified using a...

-Test subject identification information (sample collection site and date, test subject identification number, and sample number) -Clotting time parameters and comments (prothrombin time, Russell’s viper venom time, fibrinogen concentration, and coefficient of variation for replicate analyses)
Data tables associated with velocity modeling of supercritical pore fluids through porous media at reservoir conditions with applications for petroleum secondary migration and carbon sequestration plumes Data tables associated with velocity modeling of supercritical pore fluids through porous media at reservoir conditions with applications for petroleum secondary migration and carbon sequestration plumes
A time-dependent form of Darcy's Law was used to model pressure-driven fluid flow within homogeneous, isotropic, low-permeability carrier beds exhibiting a broad range of rock and fluid properties likely encountered in a variety of sedimentary sequences (Burke, 2022). In the study by Burke (2022), thermodynamic equations of state were used to determine thermophysical properties of...
Wireline geophysical logging curves and infrared spectral data for the USGS Gulf Coast #1 West Woodway research wellbore, McLennan County, Texas Wireline geophysical logging curves and infrared spectral data for the USGS Gulf Coast #1 West Woodway research wellbore, McLennan County, Texas
As part of a broader research program to examine domestic source rock reservoirs, the Gulf Coast Petroleum Systems project of the USGS Energy Resources Program drilled a research borehole into Late Cretaceous mudstones in McLennan County, Texas, including the Cenomanian-Turonian Eagle Ford Group. A comprehensive wireline geophysical logging suite and over 600 ft of continuous core were...
