Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

pfdf: A Python library to facilitate post-wildfire debris-flow hazard assessments and research. This release provides the core functionality needed to implement operational hazard assessments. This includes tools to: * Analyze watersheds * Delineate and filter stream segment networks * Compute earth-system variables for stream segments in a network * Assess debris-flow probabilities...
UAV imagery and digital elevation data for the debris slide in Chaos Canyon, 28 June 2022, Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. UAV imagery and digital elevation data for the debris slide in Chaos Canyon, 28 June 2022, Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado.
This dataset contains a point cloud (HalletPeak_PointCloud.las), digital elevation model (HalletPeak_DEM.tif), and orthoimagery (HalletPeak_Ortho.tif) of a debris slide originating on the southeast flank of Hallett Peak and sliding into Upper Chaos Canyon in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado, USA. The slide occurred on 28 June 2022, and imagery was obtained on 15 July 2022. These...
ECCOE 2022 Surface Reflectance Validation Dataset ECCOE 2022 Surface Reflectance Validation Dataset
Scientists and engineers from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Earth Resources Observation and Science Center (EROS) Cal/Val Center of Excellence (ECCOE) collected in situ measurements using field spectrometers to support the validation of surface reflectance products derived from Earth observing remote sensing imagery. Data provided in this data release were collected during select...
Compilation of topographic data, aerial imagery, and land cover classification, collected between 1984 to 2021 for an aeolian dune field near Lees Ferry, AZ Compilation of topographic data, aerial imagery, and land cover classification, collected between 1984 to 2021 for an aeolian dune field near Lees Ferry, AZ
These data were compiled for assessing how geomorphic changes measured as topographic differences from repeat surveys represent measured and modelled estimates of aeolian sediment transport and dune mobility. Objective(s) of our study were to investigate whether topographic changes can serve as a proxy for aeolian transport and sediment mobility in dunefield environments. This was...
Bathymetric and supporting data for estimation of reservoir storage capacity and geomorphic change detection analysis from a multibeam bathymetric survey of Randy Poynter Lake, Rockdale County, Georgia Bathymetric and supporting data for estimation of reservoir storage capacity and geomorphic change detection analysis from a multibeam bathymetric survey of Randy Poynter Lake, Rockdale County, Georgia
Rockdale County Department of Water Resources (RCDWR) has a mission to update estimates of the reservoir storage capacity of Randy Poynter Lake in northern Georgia and to assess recent sedimentation. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Lower Mississippi-Gulf Water Science Center (LMGWSC) collected bathymetric data from November 29, 2022 to December 4, 2022 in support of RCDWR’s mission...
Digitized sonic velocity and density log data of Sacramento Valley, California Digitized sonic velocity and density log data of Sacramento Valley, California
Sonic velocity and density well logs in the Sacramento Valley in California were digitized by hand. These logs are available as scanned files (pdfs and tiffs) on the California Division of Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Resources website and the data consist of transit times and bulk density measured downhole in oil and gas wells in the region. Sonic velocity and density data were also...
