Diet of invasive Burmese Pythons (Python molorus bivittatus) in southern Florida, 1995-2020 Diet of invasive Burmese Pythons (Python molorus bivittatus) in southern Florida, 1995-2020
Digestive tract contents were identified to provide an account of Burmese python diet. Diet contents came from 1716 pythons collected by cooperators during 1995-2020 from public and private lands across southern Florida, primarily within the Greater Everglades Ecosystem. Burmese pythons consumed 76 species of fauna across three taxonomic classes (Aves, Mammalia, and Reptilia).
Serpentoviruses in free-ranging invasive pythons and native colubrids in southern Florida, United States, 2018-2020 Serpentoviruses in free-ranging invasive pythons and native colubrids in southern Florida, United States, 2018-2020
The presence of serpentoviruses in Burmese pythons (Python bivittatus) and native snakes were collected and compiled to characterize serpentovirus in wild free-ranging pythons and free-ranging native snakes within the invasive range of the pythons in southern Florida. Virus presence was tested in 318 pythons and 219 Native snakes, primarily within the Greater Everglades Ecosystem of...
Inventory of Managed Coastal Wetlands in Delaware Bay and Delaware's Inland Bays Inventory of Managed Coastal Wetlands in Delaware Bay and Delaware's Inland Bays
This data release contains areas within Delaware Bay and Delaware Inland Bays that are within tidal elevations, as determined by the Highest Astronomical Tide (HAT), but that are classified as non-tidal or managed wetlands by the National Wetlands Inventory (NWI) or as non-estuarine by the 2016 Coastal Change Analysis Program (C-CAP) land cover dataset. These areas have been assigned the
Water Quality and Biological Data from Ponds on Islands of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta Water Quality and Biological Data from Ponds on Islands of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta
This data includes information on water quality, zooplankton, and fish sampled in ponds on delta islands in San Joaquin County, California. The islands include Bacon (North and South ponds), Bouldin (East and West ponds), Holland Tract (Middle, North, and South ponds), and Webb Tract (East, Middle, and North ponds). Discrete water quality parameters were measured bimonthly and continuous
Investigating Detection and Roadside Bias in Surveys of Grassland Birds in the Northern Great Plains, ND 2015, MT 2017-2018 Investigating Detection and Roadside Bias in Surveys of Grassland Birds in the Northern Great Plains, ND 2015, MT 2017-2018
A biologist and field crew from Northern Prairie Wildlife Research Center visited sites nine times throughout the breeding season (late May to mid-July) to record counts of grassland birds. Surveyors applied North American Breeding Bird Survey methodology to obtain counts at On-, Near-, and Off-road Stops, but unlike the North American Breeding Bird Survey, which features a single survey...
Hydrologic monitoring data in steep, landslide-prone terrain, Sitka, Alaska, USA Hydrologic monitoring data in steep, landslide-prone terrain, Sitka, Alaska, USA
This data release includes time-series data and qualitative descriptions from a monitoring station on a steep, landslide-prone slope above the City of Sitka, Alaska. On August 18, 2015, heavy rainfall triggered around 60 landslides in and around Sitka. These landslides moved downslope rapidly; several were damaging, and one demolished a home on South Kramer Avenue and killed three people...
