Edwards and Trinity Geology in Parts of South Central Texas Edwards and Trinity Geology in Parts of South Central Texas

Groundwater flow and storage in the Edwards and Trinity aquifers are largely controlled by the geologic structure and hydrostratigraphy in the region. To help local agencies and stakeholders to more effectively manage the regional water resources, a better understanding of the spatial distribution of the geologic framework and hydrostratigraphic units of the aquifers is needed.

ESPA On-Demand Interface ESPA On-Demand Interface

The USGS Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center Science Processing Architecture (ESPA) On-Demand Interface is used to request processing and services for Landsat Science Products.

Field Photo Map Field Photo Map

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) Land Cover Trends field photography collection is 33,000 ground-referenced photos at a national-scale. The photos initially served as a research tool to aid in Landsat-derived land-use/land-cover (LULC) change analyses and assessments between 1999 and 2009.

GAMA Priority Basin Project Groundwater-Quality Results: Assessment and Trends GAMA Priority Basin Project Groundwater-Quality Results: Assessment and Trends

This interactive webmap plots water-quality data from domestic and public-supply wells sampled by the USGS for the California Groundwater Ambient Monitoring and Assessment (GAMA) Program Priority Basin Project (GAMA-PBP), and allows users to download datasets. The GAMA-PBP is a cooperative program between the California State Water Resources Control Board and the U.S. Geological Survey.

Gazetteer of Planetary Nomenclature Gazetteer of Planetary Nomenclature

Planetary nomenclature is used to uniquely identify a feature on the surface of a planet or satellite so that the feature can be easily located, described, and discussed. See the FAQ for more information on common questions. For general inquiries regarding planetary nomenclature or the Gazetteer website, please contact Tenielle Gaither by emailing tgaither@usgs.gov.

Health-Based Screening Levels for Evaluating Water-Quality Data Health-Based Screening Levels for Evaluating Water-Quality Data

The Health-Based Screening Levels for Evaluating Water-Quality Data searchable online database provides Health-Based Screening Levels (HBSLs) for hundreds of chemicals, including pesticides and degradates. HBSLs are non-enforceable benchmark concentrations of contaminants in water. These screening levels supplement federal drinking-water standards and guidelines.

Interactive Map: Estimating Drought Streamflow Probabilities for Virginia Streams Interactive Map: Estimating Drought Streamflow Probabilities for Virginia Streams

Maximum likelihood logistic regression is used to estimate drought probabilities for selected Virginia rivers and streams 5 to 11 months in advance. Hydrologic drought streamflow probabilities for summer months are provided as functions of streamflows during the previous winter months. This application allows the display and query of these drought streamflow probabilities for Virginia streams.
