Parental Bereavement Leave

The National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2022 (Section 1111 of Public Law 117-81, December 27, 2021) established a new paid leave entitlement that allows covered Federal employees to take up to two weeks (80 hours) of paid bereavement leave following the death of a qualifying child. The new paid leave became effective on December 27, 2021.
