The USGS Water Resources Mission Area Project Management Office fosters a project and portfolio management culture by enabling transparency and efficiency to increase the value of USGS science. 

The Project Management Office (PMO) is one of two offices within the Water Resources Mission Area’s Office of the Chief Operating Officer. 

The mission of the PMO is to advance the disciplines of project and portfolio management through delivering value to stakeholders by: 

  • Standardizing the project, function, and product life cycle 
  • Promoting effective communications 
  • Growing the project management community 

 

The operations, programs, and activities of PMO are performed across five services:

  • Project/Program Support 
  • Project Management Framework 
  • Investment Management
