Weak spattering in the north vent transitioned to a 15-30 foot high dome fountain at 11:49 am HST. Continued fountaining filled the vent with lava by 11:59 am HST. Just after noon lava drained back into the vent.
Kilauea Message 2025-04-30 20:27:22 HST
Spattering and flames have been nearly continuous at the north vent since 6:30 pm HST. Spatter bursts continue to increase with heights just over 30 feet (10 meters) at 8:30 pm HST. The flames are likely due to burning of hydrogen gas.
Kilauea Message 2025-04-29 19:42:02 HST
Minor spattering within the north vent began before 5:00 pm HST and was more visible as it got darker. Spatter bursts increased in intensity and frequency after 6:35 pm HST. Standing lava is not currently visible in either vent.
