Kilauea Message 2025-10-15 21:20:58 HST
Nearly continuous strong glow is coming from both the north and south vents. Intermittent spattering in the north vent began just after dark. Seismic tremor indicates sustained tremor changed to irregular gas pistoning in the last 2 hours.
Kilauea Message 2025-10-12 21:47:52 HST
Short spatter bursts were observed from the south vent at 9:09 and 9:32 pm HST and at 9:29 pm HST from the north vent. These indicate that magma is high in both vents and spattering events should increase over the coming days.
Kilauea Message 2025-09-30 06:48:25 HST
There have been over 100 precusory overflows since the intial one at 9:43 PM HST September 28. Most happened yesterday, September 29, with nearly every gas piston resulting in an overflow. Since midnight there have only been 10
overflows.
Kilauea Message 2025-09-29 08:06:33 HST
There have been 8 gas piston overflows from the north vent overnight, with the frequency increasing this morning. Events last 5-10 minutes and are about 30 minutes apart. Episode 34 fountains are likely to start in less than 48 hours.
Kilauea Message 2025-09-28 22:01:27 HST
The first precursory overflow began at 9:47 PM HST shortly after magma was seen in the vent. Drainback of the pond and vigorous spattering was finished by 9:53 PM HST on Sunday September 2. This is the first gas piston event with a flow.

Kilauea Message 2025-09-19 12:09:39 HST
North vent fountains rapidly dropped and disappeared at 12:08 pm HST September 19. This appears to be the end of episode 33.
Kilauea Message 2025-09-19 04:13:43 HST
A pulse of lava flooded the south vent burying the cone at 4:05 AM HST. The pulse continued for 2 minutes and then rapidly drained back into the south vent ending the south vent eruption. The north vent fountains continue unchanged.
Kilauea Message 2025-09-19 04:08:03 HST
Lava began erupting from the south vent forming a low dome fountain feeding a branching flow at 4:00 AM HST. North fountains do not appear to have changed significantly.
Kilauea Message 2025-09-19 04:00:38 HST
Current fountain heights are 700-800 feet (210-240 meters), the highest since episode 28 in July. The fountain remains inclined to the northeast at about 60 degrees, but less than episodes 31 and 32.

Episode 33 began this morning at 3:11 AM HST as fountaining increased along with a sharp increase in seismic tremor and rapid drop in tilt. Fountains are currently over 500 feet (150 meters) high and inclined to the north.
