The north fountain has dropped to about 350 feet (110 meters) in height after 5 hours of eruption. The UWD tiltmeter has recorded about 11 microradians of deflation so far equaling an eruptive volume of 4.5 million cubic yards (3.5 mcm).

The north vent fountain peaked at 500 feet (150 meters) high with effusion rates of nearly 350 cubic yards per second (270 cubic meters per second) at 9:15 p.m. HST. The current plume height is 16,000 feet AMSL.

The north vent fountain is now approximately 300 feet (90 meters) tall and growing. Tremor is still climbing and the summit has entered rapid deflation. Lava flows covered about 10% of the floor of Halema'uma'u crater.
