HVO ground crews report light fall of Pele's hair in Pahala in the district of Ka'u that began to fall just after 1:00 PM. Additional ash and Pele's hair may be expected to fall in Kaʻu communities and on Highway 11 southwest of Volcano.

The north vent fountain peaked between 11 am and noon HST. The fountain is now around 700 feet (210 meters) high and is feeding a plume cloud to about 17,000 feet (5000 meters) above sea level that is being blown to the southwest.

Episode 50 fountains began at 10:10 am HST and are currently about 100 feet (30 meters) high from the north vent. Fountains are expected to grow to over 600 feet within 1-2 hours. Surface winds from the northeast at this time.

A new overflow began from north vent at 9:46 after 5 minutes of vigorous drainback. Dome fountains have increased from about 10 feet (3m) to over 50 feet (15m) in the past 30 minutes. Tremor is increasing and tilt decreasing.
