Wyoming statewide time-stamped oil and gas activity, 1900-2020 Wyoming statewide time-stamped oil and gas activity, 1900-2020

The Wyoming statewide time-stamped oil and gas wells shapefile was developed to provide a historical perspective of drilling activity for the Wyoming Landscape Conservation Initiative (WLCI). This product approximates start and stop dates for each well in Wyoming based on database attributes. These data originated from the Wyoming Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (WOGCC). Data...

Flood Data Collection in Pennsylvania – Site Selection Data for the Development of a Rapid Deployment Network Flood Data Collection in Pennsylvania – Site Selection Data for the Development of a Rapid Deployment Network

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), is working to identify priority locations across Pennsylvania where additional riverine flood information may be desirable during or after major storm events. Criteria involved in the identification of potential locations for flood data collection includes locations of bridges over...

Radiocarbon dating of silicified wood from around Steamboat Geyser in Norris Geyser Basin, Yellowstone National Park, 2021-2022 Radiocarbon dating of silicified wood from around Steamboat Geyser in Norris Geyser Basin, Yellowstone National Park, 2021-2022

In the past century, eruptions of Steamboat Geyser in Yellowstone’s Norris Geyser Basin were mainly clustered in three episodes: between 1961 and 1969, between 1982 and 1984, and in a sequence of eruptions that began in 2018 (Reed et al., 2021) and resulted in extensive damage to, and mortality of the surrounding trees. To characterize tree response to geyser activity over time, and the...

Data release for the Geologic Map of the Denali Park Road Corridor, Denali National Park, Alaska Data release for the Geologic Map of the Denali Park Road Corridor, Denali National Park, Alaska

Denali National Park and Preserve (DENA), located in central Alaska, is home to iconic and dynamic landscapes surrounding the tallest mountain range in North America, the Alaska Range. DENA preserves over 6 million acres of wild land that provides opportunities for recreation, subsistence hunting and gathering, preservation of cultural resources, and scientific research. Despite its size...

Seepage-run discharge measurements, August 9, 2022, He'eia Stream and 'Ioleka'a Stream, O'ahu, Hawai'i Seepage-run discharge measurements, August 9, 2022, He'eia Stream and 'Ioleka'a Stream, O'ahu, Hawai'i

This data release contains a comma-delimited ascii file of 16 discrete discharge measurements made at sites along selected reaches of He'eia Stream and 'Ioleka'a Stream, O'ahu, Hawai'i, on August 9, 2022. These discrete discharge measurements form what is commonly referred to as a "seepage run." The intent of the seepage run is to quantify the spatial distribution of streamflow along the...

Earthquake catalog (1568 to 2018) for the USGS National Seismic Hazard Model and Nuclear Regulatory Commission Earthquake catalog (1568 to 2018) for the USGS National Seismic Hazard Model and Nuclear Regulatory Commission

The earthquake catalog was generated in August 2018 using the standard National Seismic Hazard Model methodology (Mueller, 2019) for the central and eastern United States. Pre-existing catalogs were merged, duplicate records were removed, the catalog was declustered, and induced earthquakes were removed. The final catalog contains 6802 records, M2.5–7.8, and extends from 1568 through...

Water chemistry data for samples collected at groundwater sites near the Orcutt Oil Field, September 2017?March 2018, Santa Barbara County, California Water chemistry data for samples collected at groundwater sites near the Orcutt Oil Field, September 2017?March 2018, Santa Barbara County, California

In cooperation with the California State Water Resources Control Board Oil and Gas Regional Groundwater Monitoring Program the U.S. Geological Survey collected and analyzed groundwater and associated quality control (QC) samples to assess regional groundwater quality overlying and adjacent to the Orcutt Oil Field during September 2017 through March 2018. Groundwater samples were...

Niobrara River Bathymetric and Topographic Surveys to Assess Topobathymetric Lidar Accuracy, 2020 Niobrara River Bathymetric and Topographic Surveys to Assess Topobathymetric Lidar Accuracy, 2020

The Niobrara River is a National Scenic River in northern Nebraska. The Niobrara River is characterized by a sand channel with areas of gravel and bedrock. Bathymetric and topographic surveys were completed at five sites (Norden, Meadville, Mariaville, Spencer, and Niobrara) on the Niobrara River in August 2020. The bathymetric data were collected using Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers...

Dissolved Gas Modeling Results for Groundwater Samples Collected in the Western Lake Michigan Drainages and Eastern Iowa Basins Study Areas of the United States: 2007, 2017 Dissolved Gas Modeling Results for Groundwater Samples Collected in the Western Lake Michigan Drainages and Eastern Iowa Basins Study Areas of the United States: 2007, 2017

This data release contains the results from a study of the transport and transformation of nitrate in groundwater and streams across diverse glacial terranes within the Western Lake Michigan (WMIC) Drainages and Eastern Iowa (EIWA) Basins of the United States. The primary focus of the study was on how varying redox conditions influence the timing and delivery of nitrate to streams in...

Data to Estimate Water Use Associated with Oil and Gas Development within the Bureau of Land Management Carlsbad Field Office Area, New Mexico Data to Estimate Water Use Associated with Oil and Gas Development within the Bureau of Land Management Carlsbad Field Office Area, New Mexico

The purpose of this data release is to provide data in support of the Bureau of Land Management's (BLM) Reasonably Foreseeable Development (RFD) Scenario by estimating water-use associated with oil and gas extraction methods within the BLM Carlsbad Field Office (CFO) planning area, located in Eddy and Lea Counties as well as part of Chaves County, New Mexico. GSFLOW model used to simulate the groundwater and surface resources of the San Antonio Creek Valley watershed, Santa Barbara County, California GSFLOW model used to simulate the groundwater and surface resources of the San Antonio Creek Valley watershed, Santa Barbara County, California

A three-dimensional integrated groundwater and surface-water model, GSFLOW, was developed to better understand and manage the groundwater system of the San Antonio Creek Valley watershed, Santa Barbara County, California. The model was calibrated to hydrologic conditions during water years 1948-2018. The model was used to evaluate the interaction between the groundwater and surface...
