Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Water column properties and temporal hydrologic and chemical records from flooded caves (Ox Bel Ha and Cenote Crustacea) within the coastal aquifer of the Yucatan Peninsula, Quintana Roo, from December 2013 to January 2015 Water column properties and temporal hydrologic and chemical records from flooded caves (Ox Bel Ha and Cenote Crustacea) within the coastal aquifer of the Yucatan Peninsula, Quintana Roo, from December 2013 to January 2015
Natural cave passages penetrating coastal aquifers in the Yucatan Peninsula (Quintana Roo, Mexico) were accessed to investigate how regional meteorology and hydrology control dissolved organic carbon and methane dynamics in karst subterranean estuaries, the region of aquifers where fresh and saline waters mix. Three field trips were carried out in December 2013, August 2014, and January...
Grain-size analysis data of sediment samples from the beach and nearshore environments at the Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge DUNEX site, North Carolina in 2021 Grain-size analysis data of sediment samples from the beach and nearshore environments at the Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge DUNEX site, North Carolina in 2021
These data provide grain-size measurements from sediment samples collected as part of the USGS DUring Nearshore Event eXperiment (DUNEX) site on Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge, NC. DUNEX is a multi-agency, academic, and non-governmental organization collaborative community experiment designed to study nearshore coastal processes during storm events. USGS participation in DUNEX will...
Data for analysis of open removal models with temporary emigration and population dynamics to inform invasive animal management Data for analysis of open removal models with temporary emigration and population dynamics to inform invasive animal management
This data release includes the data and computer code that we produced to fit two open-robust design removal models developed to simultaneously model population dynamics, temporary emigration, and imperfect detection: a random walk linear trend model (estimable without ancillary information), and a 2-age class integrated population model (IPM) that used prior information for age...
Sagebrush Restoration Following Fire Disturbance in the Virginia Mountains, Nevada (2018) Sagebrush Restoration Following Fire Disturbance in the Virginia Mountains, Nevada (2018)
We developed a framework that strategically targets burned areas for restoration actions (e.g., seeding or planting sagebrush) that have the greatest potential to positively benefit Greater Sage-grouse (Centrocercus urophasianus; hereafter sage-grouse) populations through time. Specifically, we estimated sagebrush (Artemisia Spp.) recovery following wildfire and risk of non-native annual...
Ecological modeling output for the Lake Okeechobee System Operating Manual iteration 3 (of 3), 2022 Ecological modeling output for the Lake Okeechobee System Operating Manual iteration 3 (of 3), 2022
Ecological models facilitate the evaluation and assessment of alternative approaches to restore the Greater Everglades ecosystem. Joint Ecosystem Modeling (JEM) provides ecological models tailored to address specific management issues. The multi-agency REstoration, COordination and VERification (RECOVER) science team uses ecological models (i.e., ecological planning tools) to evaluate...

Generalized use classification for groundwater sites in California with publicly available water-quality data in the U.S. Geological Survey National Water Information System (NWIS) data archive (ver. 1.1, April 2025) Generalized use classification for groundwater sites in California with publicly available water-quality data in the U.S. Geological Survey National Water Information System (NWIS) data archive (ver. 1.1, April 2025)
The U.S. Geological Survey Water Data for the Nation (WDFN; U.S. Geological Survey, 2025) data archive contains publicly available water-quality data for approximately 21,000 groundwater wells and springs in California. This data release publishes site type information and a generalized use classification for each site. The generalized use category is derived from, but is not equivalent...
Model-Estimated, Spatially Distributed Monthly Water Balance of the Upper Colorado River Basin, Water Years 1913-2017 Model-Estimated, Spatially Distributed Monthly Water Balance of the Upper Colorado River Basin, Water Years 1913-2017
Dataset was generated by performing water-balance computations for the Upper Colorado River Basin for the months October 1913 through September 2017. The basin area was first divided into 17,626 4-kim grid cells, and these were then grouped by sub-basin and annual precipitation into 960 subareas; the dataset includes a lookup table for this grouping. For each of the 960 subareas, the...
Native and Non-Native Fish Species in the Willamette River Basin, Oregon Native and Non-Native Fish Species in the Willamette River Basin, Oregon
The Willamette River Basin, Oregon, supports native fish species and non-native fish species introduced for sport fisheries or accidentally from aquarium releases and other sources. Based on fish surveys completed from 1998 to 2018 by Oregon State University and records from the Oregon State University Ichthyology Collection, the Willamette River Basin has 34 native fish species found...
Stillwater Complex, Montana: Logs of core drilled by Chrome Corporation of America in the Mountain View area, 1988 to 1990 Stillwater Complex, Montana: Logs of core drilled by Chrome Corporation of America in the Mountain View area, 1988 to 1990
This dataset includes TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) images of graphic drill core logs showing associated drill core information, a TIFF image of the explanation for the lithology and structure sections of the logs, an Esri shapefile of the locations of the drill holes, and 17 individual .csv files of tabular data that were compiled from handwritten drill core logs. The drill core is...
Structural measurements and their calculated surface traces, South Kawishiwi area, Duluth Complex, Minnesota Structural measurements and their calculated surface traces, South Kawishiwi area, Duluth Complex, Minnesota
This dataset includes a point shapefile representing structural measurements taken from a study area near the South Kawishiwi Intrusion in the Duluth Complex, Minnesota and a line shapefile representing the surface traces of the structural measurements. The structural measurements point file consists of a compilation of data from multiple published and unpublished sources. The surface...
Electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) and horizontal-to-vertical spectral ratio (HVSR) data collected East and Southeast of Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota, in 2021 Electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) and horizontal-to-vertical spectral ratio (HVSR) data collected East and Southeast of Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota, in 2021
This data release contains electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) and passive seismic data collected east of Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota, from April to September 2021.
