Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Nest Survival Bias Analysis Nest Survival Bias Analysis
This R script will run one replicate of one scenario used by Weiser (2021) to quantify biases in estimates of nest survival when nests are not found at the beginning of the nesting interval (age 0). The script simulates nest monitoring histories based on input parameters, applies models with or without an age effect to estimate daily survival rates, and calculates nest survival (to the...
Data for monitoring trace metal and benthic community near the Palo Alto Regional Water Quality Control Plant in South San Francisco Bay, California (ver. 3.0, July 2025) Data for monitoring trace metal and benthic community near the Palo Alto Regional Water Quality Control Plant in South San Francisco Bay, California (ver. 3.0, July 2025)
Trace-metal concentrations in sediment and in the clam Limecola petalum (World Register of Marine Species, 2020; formerly reported as Macoma balthica and M. petalum), clam reproductive activity, and benthic macroinvertebrate community structure were investigated in a mudflat located 1 kilometer south of the discharge of the Palo Alto Regional Water Quality Control Plant (PARWQCP) in...

This repository includes thermochronologic and geochronologic datasets generated for analysis and interpretation of the faulting history of the Kunlun Shan region of northern Tibet, as well as published timing of fault activity on other pertinent structures in the Tibetan Plateau.
Benthic Algae and Phytoplankton Community and Toxin Data for Selected Stations in the Mississippi Sound, 2019 Benthic Algae and Phytoplankton Community and Toxin Data for Selected Stations in the Mississippi Sound, 2019
The Bonnet Carré Spillway (BCS), located about 28 miles northwest of New Orleans, was constructed by the US Army Corp of Engineers in the early 1930s as part of an integrated flood-control system for the lower Mississippi River (MR). The BCS control structure consists of 350 individual bays that can be opened to divert water from the river to Lake Pontchartrain to relieve pressure on...
Chemical Data From 40 Years of Monitoring a Treated-Wastewater Groundwater Plume in a Sand and Gravel Aquifer, Cape Cod, Massachusetts, 1978-2018 (ver. 1.1, April 2025) Chemical Data From 40 Years of Monitoring a Treated-Wastewater Groundwater Plume in a Sand and Gravel Aquifer, Cape Cod, Massachusetts, 1978-2018 (ver. 1.1, April 2025)
This U.S. Geological Survey data release provides a comprehensive dataset of water-quality data and sampling-site characteristics collected in 1978–2018 during a study of the effects of land disposal of treated wastewater on groundwater quality in an unconsolidated sand and gravel aquifer on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Treated sewage-derived wastewater was discharged to rapid-infiltration...
Western Spadefoot Habitat Selection Based on Radio Telemetry in Orange County, California 2019 Western Spadefoot Habitat Selection Based on Radio Telemetry in Orange County, California 2019
We conducted a radio telemetry study of adult western spadefoots (Spea hammondii) at 2 sites in southern California to characterize their survival, behavior, and movements from breeding through aestivation to inform conservation and management for the species. These data support the following publication: Halstead, B.J., Baumberger, K.L., Backlin, A.R., Kleeman, P.M., Wong, M.N...
Annual SSEBop ET rasters at Landsat scale from 2010-2019 for the CONUS Annual SSEBop ET rasters at Landsat scale from 2010-2019 for the CONUS
CONUS-wide acutal ET (ETa) from Landsat thermal imagery-using the Operational Simplified Surface Energy Balance (SSEBop) model in the Google Earth Engine (GEE) cloud computing platform. Over 150,000 Landsat satellite images were used to produce 10 years of annual ETa (2010-2019).

Chloride concentrations from wells in the Genesee River Valley, Livingston County, New York Chloride concentrations from wells in the Genesee River Valley, Livingston County, New York
The Retsof salt mine in the Genesee River Valley, Livingston County, New York, flooded after mine-roof collapses in 1994 created two rubble chimneys in overlying bedrock that intersected a confined aquifer in the basal glacial-drift deposits and continued collapse to the land surface. Groundwater in the lower confined aquifer flowed downward through the bedrock rubble chimneys causing...
Data and hydraulic models at selected dam-removal and culvert-retrofit sites in the northeastern United States Data and hydraulic models at selected dam-removal and culvert-retrofit sites in the northeastern United States
This dataset contains U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) developed hydraulic models, USGS developed hydrology data, US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) supplied data (topography/bathymetry and structure data for pre removal conditions), and USGS field surveyed data at nine dam-removal and culvert-retrofit sites in the northeastern United States (Olson and Simeone, 2021). The hydrology, the...
