Seismogenic Landslides and other Mass Movements (ver. 3.0, May 2025) Seismogenic Landslides and other Mass Movements (ver. 3.0, May 2025)

This data release is a compilation of known landslides and other mass movements that generated seismic signals observable on existing seismic networks. The data release includes basic information about each event such as location, volume, area, and runout distances as well as information about seismic detections and the location of seismic data, photos, maps, GIS files, and links to...

Select Groundwater-Quality and Quality-Control Data from the National Water-Quality Assessment Project 2019 to Present (ver. 4.0, April 2025) Select Groundwater-Quality and Quality-Control Data from the National Water-Quality Assessment Project 2019 to Present (ver. 4.0, April 2025)

Groundwater samples were collected and analyzed from 1,015 wells as part of the National Water-Quality Assessment Project of the U.S. Geological Survey National Water-Quality Program and the water-quality data and quality-control data are included in this data release. The samples were collected from three types of well networks: principal aquifer study networks, which are used to assess...

Select optical signals from water samples collected on the Menomonee River, Underwood Creek, and Jones Island Water Reclamation Facility from 2017-2019, and time-series optical sensor and one-hour mean streamflow data from the Menomonee River 2017-2018 Select optical signals from water samples collected on the Menomonee River, Underwood Creek, and Jones Island Water Reclamation Facility from 2017-2019, and time-series optical sensor and one-hour mean streamflow data from the Menomonee River 2017-2018

5-day composite river water samples were collected from two sites: Menomonee River (U.S. Geological Survey station number 04087142) and Underwood Creek (U.S. Geological Survey station number 04087088) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. 5-day composite wastewater (raw sewage) influent samples were also collected from the Jones Island Water Reclamation Facility (U.S. Geological Survey station number

Selected Chemical and Physical Properties and Inorganic Constituents and Time-Series Nitrate in Samples from selected wells and/or springs, Petaluma Valley watershed, Sonoma County, California, 1959-2015. Selected Chemical and Physical Properties and Inorganic Constituents and Time-Series Nitrate in Samples from selected wells and/or springs, Petaluma Valley watershed, Sonoma County, California, 1959-2015.

This data release contains appendix C1 and appendix C2 for the USGS Scientific Investigations Report (SIR) titled Hydrologic and Geochemical Characterization of the Petaluma River Watershed, Sonoma County, California. Appendix C1 contains selected chemical and physical properties and inorganic constituents in samples from selected springs, and wells, Petaluma Valley watershed, Sonoma...

Selected streamgage sites and periods of record for consideration of flood-generating mechanisms in Hawai`i and Southeast Alaska, 1913-2022 Selected streamgage sites and periods of record for consideration of flood-generating mechanisms in Hawai`i and Southeast Alaska, 1913-2022

This data release consists of a comma-delimited ascii file with attributes for 21 U.S. Geological Survey streamgage sites in Hawai`i and Southeast Alaska selected to enable assessment of how floods might change in a future climate. Floods in Hawai`i and Southeast Alaska have led to loss of human life; damage to agricultural crops, cultural and biological resources, infrastructure, and...

Selection and Survival of Greater Sage-Grouse Broods in Mesic Areas of Long Valley, California (2003 - 2018) Selection and Survival of Greater Sage-Grouse Broods in Mesic Areas of Long Valley, California (2003 - 2018)

We evaluated brood-rearing habitat selection and brood survival of greater sage-grouse (Centrocercus urophasianus; hereafter, sage-grouse) in Long Valley, California, an area where the water rights are primarily owned by the city of Los Angeles and water is used locally to irrigate for livestock. This area thus represents a unique balance between the needs of wildlife and people that...

Selenium concentrations in Yuma Ridgway's Rails occupying managed and unmanaged emergent marshes at the Salton Sea Selenium concentrations in Yuma Ridgway's Rails occupying managed and unmanaged emergent marshes at the Salton Sea

Yuma Ridgway's rail (Rallus obsoletus yumanensis, hereafter, "rail" are an endangered species for which patches of emergent marsh within the Salton Sea watershed comprise a substantial portion of habitat for the species' disjointed range in the southwestern United States. These areas of emergent marsh include: 1) marshes managed by federal (particularly the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service...

Serological Survey Data for Francisella tularensis and Brucella spp. Exposure in Wildlife on the Arctic Coastal Plain of Alaska Serological Survey Data for Francisella tularensis and Brucella spp. Exposure in Wildlife on the Arctic Coastal Plain of Alaska

This dataset consists of one table with diagnostic screening results from a study of Francisella tularensis bacteria exposure in tundra-nesting geese and mammals and Brucella spp. exposure in mammals sampled from multiple locations on the Arctic Coastal Plain of Alaska, 2014-2017. The table provides sample collection and location data of geese, arctic fox, red fox, caribou, small mammal...

Serology, survival, and detection of rabies data from vaccination trials in the common vampire bat (Desmodus rotundus) using a recombinant raccoon poxvirus-vectored mosaic rabies vaccine candidate Serology, survival, and detection of rabies data from vaccination trials in the common vampire bat (Desmodus rotundus) using a recombinant raccoon poxvirus-vectored mosaic rabies vaccine candidate

This data set provides biological information from of a captive colony of common vampire bats (wild-caught and born in captivity) that were part of an experimental study on vaccination. It includes results obtained from different assays: RT-PCR, serum neutralization, Rabies direct-fluorescent antibody test, performed periodically during the study (Sep 2018 – May 2020).

Serum osmolality, cortisol, and protein in laboratory common carp (Cyprinus carpio) Serum osmolality, cortisol, and protein in laboratory common carp (Cyprinus carpio)

Common carp were placed into three treatment groups based on levels of induced stress in the laboratory setting. Measurements of common carp blood serum cortisol and serum protein were collected by spectrophotometry. Additionally, serum osmolality measurements were obtained by vapor pressure osmometry. Fish weights were taken at the time of blood collection.

Shapefile for slip tendency and dilation tendency calculated for Quaternary faults in the Great Basin Shapefile for slip tendency and dilation tendency calculated for Quaternary faults in the Great Basin

This database contains the results of slip tendency and dilation tendency analysis of Quaternary faults in the Great Basin region, including parts of Arizona, California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Wyoming. This effort was undertaken to help identify faults and fault segments that are appropriately oriented to be stress-loaded for slip or to dilate under the ambient stress...

Shapefiles of hydrogeologic unit extents and top-surface altitude contours used in the revised hydrogeologic framework for the Virginia Coastal Plain Southwest of the James River Shapefiles of hydrogeologic unit extents and top-surface altitude contours used in the revised hydrogeologic framework for the Virginia Coastal Plain Southwest of the James River

A revision to the hydrogeologic framework of the Virginia coastal plain southwest of the James River was developed by USGS during 2019-2021. This revision includes modifications to existing understanding of the groundwater system in Prince George, Surry, Sussex, Isle of Wight, and Southampton counties and the cities of Franklin and Suffolk in southeast Virginia. This USGS data release...
