Established in 2012, the Northeast CASC provides regionally-relevant scientific information, tools, and techniques to resource managers and communities from Virginia to Maine.
The Northeast (NE) CASC is hosted by the University of Massachusetts Amherst and includes academic consortium institutions throughout the region. The consortium works closely with USGS partners to provide deep and diverse resources for successfully meeting the specific needs for climate impact science assessment, education, and stakeholder outreach throughout the region.
The NE CASC team boasts broad geographic and technical expertise on diverse topics, ranging from atmospheric processes to ecological species interactions. They use interdisciplinary science to explore the interface between Earth, natural, and human systems and use this information to inform partnerships with resource management agencies on climate adaptation initiatives.
To facilitate communication and collaboration with Tribal Nations in the region, the Northeast CASC is joined by a Bureau of Indian Affairs Tribal Resilience Liaison.
