Morgan W.M. Nasholds, M. Sc.
Morgan is a Physical Scientist at the Geology, Minerals, Energy, and Geophysics Science Center in Flagstaff, AZ. He earned his M.Sc. in Geology from New Mexico Tech, focusing on the spatiotemporal progression of post-caldera volcanism in Valles Caldera, NM. Since joining the USGS in 2022, Morgan has concentrated on GIS science, cartography, and geochronology of the Lower Colorado River corridor.
Morgan is primarily interested in GIS, volcanology, and remote sensing, with strong secondary interests in structural geology and tectonics. Beginning his USGS journey as a volunteer at the Cascades Volcano Observatory and subsequently an intern at the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory, Morgan now works as a GIS scientist at the GMEG Science Center. Morgan's work focuses on the production and management of geologic maps and their associated geospatial databases, with auxiliary duties in geochronological sample processing and preparation. His work contributes to the mapping efforts and general understanding of the geologic evolution within the Colorado River corridor region.
