THIS IS THE MICROSITE_BASE LAYOUT : The Surface-Water Capabilities Team facilitates measurement stream stage (water level) and streamflow, and computes daily streamflow at locations in Maryland, Delaware, and the District of Columbia. Surface Water also conducts surface water-quality monitoring for our Hydrologic Networks to help meet many cooperator needs.

The Surface-Water Capabilities Team monitors and conducts investigative research to describe and improve our region's understanding of extreme hydrologic events - droughts, floods and flood hazards, and coastal or bay storm surge and inundation. The Surface-Water Capabilities Team studies the effects of stream restoration and the role of in-stream processes, such as stream dynamics, stability, and biotic function on stream water quality, and conduct studies to identify sediment sources (overland or in-stream) and describe sediment transport. The team specializes in developing advanced data collection and dissemination techniques.
The Surface-Water Capabilities Team utilizes a multidisciplinary approach in operating our Hydrologic Networks to meet the data-collection goals that support the needs of local and Regional partners and policy-makers, as well as the research interests of our academic partners and the USGS. This approach includes a broad knowledge of basin characteristics, stream geomorphology and hydrology, and coastal hydrology. The team combines this knowledge with advanced statistical analysis and data-collection techniques in streamflow gaging, water-quality monitoring, and quality-assurance of all collected or computed data.
Surface-Water funding is mainly provided by a broad base of governmental (city, county, state, and federal) and nongovernmental (academic and nonprofit) agencies, as well as Congressional appropriations.

But I depart...Here is Andrena bradleyi, the Long-faced Mining Bee, a vaccinium (blueberry) specialist. If you hang out around blueberries then you might find this bee...the flowering plants that is.
