Interactive PHREEQ-N-Titration-PO4-Adsorption water-quality modeling tools to evaluate potential attenuation of phosphate and associated dissolved constituents by aqueous-solid equilibrium processes (software download) Interactive PHREEQ-N-Titration-PO4-Adsorption water-quality modeling tools to evaluate potential attenuation of phosphate and associated dissolved constituents by aqueous-solid equilibrium processes (software download)

Two complementary executable water-quality modeling tools (CausticTitration_PO4mg.exe, CausticTitration_PO4moles.exe) simulate equilibrium processes that may attenuate dissolved concentrations of phosphate (PO4) plus associated concentrations of iron (Fe), aluminum (Al), manganese (Mn), calcium (Ca), and sulfate (SO4) as pH and other solution characteristics change during titration with...

Data compilation for regional synthesis of chemical characteristics of groundwater used for domestic supply in north-east and north-central Pennsylvania Data compilation for regional synthesis of chemical characteristics of groundwater used for domestic supply in north-east and north-central Pennsylvania

Groundwater quality data for 472 domestic well-water samples were retrieved from the USGS National Water Information System (NWIS) database and combined with descriptive information on the sampled well locations. The NWIS data for a sample, collected on the selected date, were averaged into a single record (one per well), and rounded according to USGS protocols. For evaluation and...

Regional screening for managed aquifer recharge suitability in Jordan, Lebanon, and surrounding areas Regional screening for managed aquifer recharge suitability in Jordan, Lebanon, and surrounding areas

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the U.S. Agency for International Development, Arab Water Council, Hydrology.NL, National Center for Research and Development (Jordan), and American University of Beirut, completed a project for acceleration of aquifer storage and recovery in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The MENA region is globally the most water...

Population genetic data for flathead catfish from the Susquehanna and Delaware River basins in Pennsylvania and Maryland, USA Population genetic data for flathead catfish from the Susquehanna and Delaware River basins in Pennsylvania and Maryland, USA

This dataset includes microsatellite genotypes for 137 flathead catfish from the Susquehanna River and Delaware River basins in Pennslyvania and Maryland, USA. Each individual was genotyped at 13 loci. Additional information about sex, capture date, and size are also provided for most individuals.

Per-and Polyfluorinated Alkyl Substances (PFAS) and associated ancillary data from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, USA, 2019 Per-and Polyfluorinated Alkyl Substances (PFAS) and associated ancillary data from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, USA, 2019

The USGS Pennsylvania Water Science Center (USGS PAWSC) in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) has assembled this data release in support of ongoing USGS and PADEP evaluations related to the occurrence and distribution of Per-and Polyfluorinated Alkyl Substances (PFAS) within Pennsylvania surface water. The data is of four general types...

Low-streamflow and precipitation trends for 183 U.S. Geological Survey streamgages in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Low-streamflow and precipitation trends for 183 U.S. Geological Survey streamgages in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed

This data release contains low-streamflow trend results from 183 U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) streamgages and precipitation trend results from gaged watersheds within the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. Data include streamgage identification number, trend slopes and significance for several low-streamflow and precipitation metrics.

Regional flood skew for parts of the mid-Atlantic region (hydrologic unit 02) in eastern New York and Pennsylvania Regional flood skew for parts of the mid-Atlantic region (hydrologic unit 02) in eastern New York and Pennsylvania

This data release contains annual peak-flow data through the 2013 water year, specification and output files from flood-frequency analysis of the annual peak-flow data in USGS PeakFQ software, a GIS shapefile of the basin polygons with attributes of site information, basin characteristics, results of flood-frequency analysis, and results of B-WLS/B-GLS analysis of skewness of the annual...

Data in support of study evaluating effects of legacy-sediment removal on nutrients and sediment in Big Spring Run, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, 2009-15 Data in support of study evaluating effects of legacy-sediment removal on nutrients and sediment in Big Spring Run, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, 2009-15

The stream corridor at the Big Spring Run restoration site has been identified as a substantial source of sediment and nutrients to streams due to streambank erosion and floodplain scour of legacy sediment. Three USGS streamgages were installed and water-quality monitoring began in water year 2009, prior to the legacy sediment removal from the restoration area. The legacy sediment was...

Data in support of Pennsylvania StreamStats upgrade to the basin delineation database Data in support of Pennsylvania StreamStats upgrade to the basin delineation database

In cooperation with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, and Susquehanna River Basin Commission, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has compiled a series of GIS datasets for Pennsylvania to be implemented into the USGS StreamStats application. These data were compiled from the high...

Data used to evaluate arsenic and uranium occurrence in Connecticut groundwater through spatially weighted and bedrock geology assessments Data used to evaluate arsenic and uranium occurrence in Connecticut groundwater through spatially weighted and bedrock geology assessments

This data release contains two spatial datasets and a data table in support of an evaluation of arsenic and uranium occurrence in Connecticut groundwater through spatially weighted and bedrock geology assessments. Spatial datasets include 1) a shapefile of 130 equal-area grid cells with associated arsenic attribute data, and 2) a shapefile of 110 equal-area grid cells with associated...

Water-level data and selected field notes for aquifer-interval-isolation tests at and near the former Naval Air Warfare Center Warminster, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, 2018-19 (ver. 2.0, January 2024) Water-level data and selected field notes for aquifer-interval-isolation tests at and near the former Naval Air Warfare Center Warminster, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, 2018-19 (ver. 2.0, January 2024)

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) conducted aquifer interval isolation (packer) tests of discrete water-bearing zones using straddle packers in 13 wells in Northampton, Warminster, and Warwick Townships and Ivyland Borough, Bucks County, Pennsylvania during 2018-19 to support detailed groundwater investigations at and near the former Naval Air Warfare Center (NAWC) Warminster, where...
