This data set contains the result for inorganic constituents and organic compounds collected from tapwater locations, as well as water filtration plants, in East Chicago, Indiana, and Chicago, Illinois in 2017. Additionally quality assurance data collected was summarized. Residential samples collected were done so directly from residential kitchen taps (faucets) as is, it was noted if a point-of-use filtration device was utilized by the homeowner, but they were not removed for sampling. Samples were collected at various times of the day, without regard to previous water use. Results were analyzed using ToxCast, and Exposure Activity Ratios (EARs) are presented. Water filtration plant samples were taken from Lake Michigan, and non-regulatory, pre-distributional faucets. Samples were analyzed at the U.S. Geological Survey, National Water Quality Laboratory, Denver, Colorado, Organic Chemistry Laboratory, Sacramento, California, and Organic Geochemistry Laboratory, Lawrence, Kansas. Additionally, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances were analyzed at the Colorado School of Mines, Golden, Colorado.
