The fifth cycle of magma rise, fountaining, and drainback began at 10:48 am HST and ended at 10:58 am HST on March 25. All magma has remained within the north vent at this time.
Kilauea Message 2025-03-25 10:46:59 HST
A third cycle of magma rise within the north vent began at 10:11 with drainback starting at 10:17 and ending at 10:20 am HST. This was followed by a fourth cycle at 10:29 with drainback starting at 10:34 and ending by 10:39 am HST.

A second cycle of dome fountaining and drainback in the north vent started at 9:55 and ended at 10:02 am HST. All activity remains confined to the vent, but the level of magma rose near the lip of the north cone.
Kilauea Message 2025-03-25 09:36:04 HST
Small dome fountains 20-30 feet high became visible in the north vent from 9:27 am HST to 9:33 am HST. Lava was confined within the cone at this time and is a prelude to the onset of episode 15.

The UWD tiltmeter is not currently providing reliable data. HVO staff are working to resolve this issue. In the meantime, the SDH and IKI tiltmeters remain operational.
Kilauea Message 2025-03-24 21:23:43 HST
The earliest episode 15 might start is very late tonight March 24 or in the wee hours of Tuesday March 25 if current inflation rates continue. If inflation rates slow, the onset of episode 15 may be delayed by a day.
Kilauea Message 2025-03-24 07:59:36 HST
Episode 15 is now most likely to start late today (Monday, March 34) or tomorrow due to the lack of summit inflation over the past 24 hours. Additional revisions may be necessary if inflation rates remain low.
Kilauea Message 2025-03-23 10:00:34 HST
Episode 15 of the ongoing Halemaʻumaʻu eruption is likely to begin late today (Sunday March 23) or tomorrow morning (Monday March 24) with a wee chance of being delayed to Monday night.
Kilauea Message 2025-03-22 11:21:29 HST
The Uēkahuna tiltmeter (UWD) malfunctioned Friday March 21. UWD data was used to calculate likely windows of time for the next episode to begin. Data from Sandhill tiltmeter (SDH) is now being used with an adjusted model.
