Orthophotograph of the Columbia River between Portland and The Dalles, Oregon, acquired in 1935

This data release consists of high quality georeferenced orthophoto mosaics of a 160 kilometer long portion of the Columbia River between Portland and The Dalles, Oregon created from aerial photographs collected in 1935 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The dataset comprises three GeoTIFF files, each covering about 40-60 kilometers. This metadata document summarizes the entire data release. See

San Bernard National Wildlife Refuge Texas: Using drone acquired 2019 imagery to classify sudden dieback vegetation in Coastal TX wetlands

Climatic extremes are becoming more frequent with climate change and have the potential to cause major ecological shifts and ecosystem collapse. With the ecosystem collapse these normally healthy marshes fragment and convert to open water. Along the northern Gulf of Mexico, a coastal wetland in the San Bernard National Wildlife Refuge in Texas suffered significant and acute vegetation dieback foll

Field observation of wind waves and current velocity (2020) along the Fog Point Living Shoreline, Maryland

This dataset contains measurements of wave height, peak wave period, and water depth taken every 0.5 hours from February 13 to June 12, 2020, at three wave gauge locations along the Fog Point shoreline in Martin National Wildlife Refuge, Maryland. These wave gauges were continuously sampled at 10 Hz, capturing 20-minute bursts every 30 minutes (peak wave periods longer than 7s were removed). Addit

Traditional and geometric morphometric data describing wild and artificially reared cisco (Coregonus artedi) from lakes Huron and Ontario

These data describe morphometric (body shape) measurements of wild and artificially reared (i.e., raised in a laboratory or fish hatchery) cisco (Coregonus artedi) from lakes Huron and Ontario in the Laurentian Great Lakes. Specifically, this data release includes traditional morphometric data (i.e., measurements of fish specimens) describing wild and artificially reared cisco from Lake Huron, as

Egg Membrane Thickness in 13 Waterbird Species

Eggshells of 13 waterbird species were divided in half longitudinally and the outer eggshell membrane was removed from one of the halves. Eggshell thickness was measured for both eggshell halves, both with and without the outer eggshell membrane. The eggshell membrane thickness was calculated by taking the difference between the two thickness measurements. These data support the following publica

Airborne lidar survey of St Vincent, Eastern Caribbean, following the 2020-21 eruption of La Soufrière Volcano

La Soufrière Volcano is a 1,220 m high stratovolcano that occupies the northern half of the island of St. Vincent, Lesser Antilles, Eastern Caribbean. It has a long history of explosive and sometimes devastating eruptions. Beginning in December 2020 and ending in April 2021, La Soufrière Volcano produced a Volcano Explosivity Index (VEI) 4 eruption that greatly impacted the landscape, communities,

Coastal Single-beam Bathymetry Data Collected in 2022 From Breton Island, Louisiana

As part of the restoration monitoring component of the Deepwater Horizon early restoration project, scientists from the U.S. Geological Survey St. Petersburg Coastal and Marine Science Center (USGS SPCMSC) conducted a single-beam and multibeam bathymetry survey around Breton Island, Louisiana (LA), from August 3-5, 2022, for Field Activity Number (FAN) 2022-328-FA. The purpose of data collection w

Enhanced Terrain Imagery of the Carlisle 30 x 60 Minute Quadrangle from Lidar-Derived Elevation Models at 3-Meter Resolution

This imagery dataset consists of 3-meter resolution, lidar-derived imagery of the Carlisle 30 x 60 minute quadrangle in Pennsylvania. The source data used to construct this imagery consists of 1-meter resolution lidar-derived digital elevation models (DEMs). The lidar source data were compiled from different acquisitions published between 2019 and 2020 and downloaded from the USGS National Map TNM

Enhanced Terrain Imagery of the Johnstown 30 x 60 Minute Quadrangle from Lidar-Derived Elevation Models at 3-Meter Resolution

This imagery dataset consists of 3-meter resolution, lidar-derived imagery of the Johnstown 30 x 60 minute quadrangle in Pennsylvania. The source data used to construct this imagery consists of 1-meter resolution lidar-derived digital elevation models (DEMs). The lidar source data were compiled from different acquisitions published in 2020 and downloaded from the USGS National Map TNM Download. Th

Long-term monotonic trends in annual and monthly streamflow metrics at streamgages in the United States

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Water Resources Mission Area (WMA) is working to address a need to understand where the Nation is experiencing water shortages or surpluses relative to the demand for water need by delivering routine assessments of water supply and demand and an understanding of the natural and human factors affecting the balance between supply and demand. A key part of these nati

Tracking Data for Long-billed Curlews (Numenius americanus)

This metadata document describes the data contained in the "processedData" folder of this data package. This data package contains all data collected by the Argos System from 28 satellite transmitters attached to Long-billed Curlews at breeding sites in Oregon, Nevada, and Montana. The raw data were processed to accomplish two goals: flag implausible location estimates and decode raw sensor data.

Community Exposure in U.S. American Samoa to Future Coastal Flooding Hazards, reference year 2020

The data set contains information on potential population, economic, land cover, and infrastructure exposure to coastal hazards for coastal communities of the territory of American Samoa, USA. The type of information includes U.S. Census Bureau data on the number of residents, land cover estimates from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and infrastructure data on roads an
