Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Random forest and donor-based simulated streamflow drought for 3,198 gages across the CONUS, 1982-2020 Random forest and donor-based simulated streamflow drought for 3,198 gages across the CONUS, 1982-2020
This metadata record describes random forest model simulated daily drought status at 3,198 stream gage locations distributed across the CONUS from 1982-04-01 to 2020-03-31. The models were trained on data from 1984-10-01 to 2015-09-30 and tested on data from 1982 to 1984 and 2016 to 2020. The models used explanatory variable inputs described in Wieczorek (2023) (doi.org/10.5066/P98IG8LO)...
Quaternary fault mapping within the eastern Centennial Tectonic Belt from high-resolution topography Quaternary fault mapping within the eastern Centennial Tectonic Belt from high-resolution topography
This data release presents mapping of late Quaternary fault scarps within the eastern Centennial Tectonic Belt, along the northwestern margin of the Yellowstone seismic parabola. Using 1-m light detection and ranging (lidar) data, we mapped nine faults: the Madison, Centennial, Lima Reservoir, Red Rock, unnamed faults in Hebgen Lake basin (now referred to as the “West Yellowstone basin”...
USGS National and Global Oil and Gas Assessment Project—Niger Delta Province: Assessment Unit Boundaries, Assessment Input Data, and Fact Sheet Data Tables USGS National and Global Oil and Gas Assessment Project—Niger Delta Province: Assessment Unit Boundaries, Assessment Input Data, and Fact Sheet Data Tables
This data release contains the boundaries of assessment units, assessment input data, and resulting fact sheet data tables for the assessment of undiscovered conventional oil and gas resources of the Niger Delta Province of Nigeria and Cameroon. The assessment unit is the fundamental unit used in the National and Global Oil and Gas Assessment (NAGA) Project for the assessment of...
High-resolution Thermal Infrared and True-color Imagery Mosaics, Longitudinal Stream Temperature Profiles, and Thermal Points of Interest from Airborne Surveys of the Quillayute and Bogachiel Rivers, Washington, August 15, 2023 High-resolution Thermal Infrared and True-color Imagery Mosaics, Longitudinal Stream Temperature Profiles, and Thermal Points of Interest from Airborne Surveys of the Quillayute and Bogachiel Rivers, Washington, August 15, 2023
This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) data release provides high-resolution thermal infrared (TIR) and true-color red, green, blue (RGB) imagery mosaics, longitudinal stream-temperature profiles (LTPs), thermal points of interest (POIs), and river centerlines from airborne surveys of 47 river kilometers (29 river miles) of the Quillayute and Bogachiel Rivers, Washington. The TIR and RGB...
Investigations on the impact of broad ion beam milling preparation on coal samples Investigations on the impact of broad ion beam milling preparation on coal samples
This data release presents the results of broad ion beam (BIB) milling tests on organic-rich geologic samples by comparing the changes in vitrinite reflectance (Ro) pre- and post-milling. This work utilized two different BIB milling systems (single gun and dual gun) and evaluated changes in Ro using different ion milling voltages (2–8 keV), and sample temperature (cooling vs. standard...
Microtremor Array Data from the Skagit River Delta, Washington State, 2025 Microtremor Array Data from the Skagit River Delta, Washington State, 2025
This data release contains seismic waveform data collected using nodal seismometers in the Skagit River Delta, WA. These data were acquired between July 21 and July 26, 2025 using SmartSolo IGU-16HR 3-component seismometers with a natural frequency of 5 Hz. Depending on site conditions, instruments were buried, partially buried, or placed on the ground surface (covered with a traffic...
Total mercury and methylmercury concentrations in biota collected from the Columbia River Basin, USA Total mercury and methylmercury concentrations in biota collected from the Columbia River Basin, USA
Comma-separated values (.csv) files containing data related to mercury concentrations in biota tissues collected from the Columbia River Basin in the Pacific Northwest.
Pacific Northwest Benthic Macroinvertebrate Standard Taxonomic Effort List 2023 Pacific Northwest Benthic Macroinvertebrate Standard Taxonomic Effort List 2023
Version 1.0 of the Pacific Northwest Standard Taxonomic Effort (PNW-STE) is the culmination of many years’ work and builds greatly off the 2015 preliminary version hosted at the Pacific Northwest Aquatic Monitoring Partnership web site (www.PNAMP.org). This tool standardizes the nomenclature and taxonomic targets for data generated from freshwater benthic macroinvertebrate biomonitoring...
