Data Releases

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

MODFLOW 6 and MODPATH 7 Models for Simulating Groundwater Flow and Nitrogen Transport in the Long Island, New York Aquifer System (ver. 2.0, January 2026) MODFLOW 6 and MODPATH 7 Models for Simulating Groundwater Flow and Nitrogen Transport in the Long Island, New York Aquifer System (ver. 2.0, January 2026)

This groundwater model application data release documents transient and steady-state regional and inset numerical models of the Long Island aquifer system that simulate groundwater flow and nitrogen transport for the period 1900-2019 using the US Geological Survey groundwater modeling software MODFLOW 6 (Langvin and others, 2017 and 2022). The development and calibration of the regional

Freshwater fish and mussel projections in the Northeastern United States at the HUC12 scale under different climate and land use scenarios Freshwater fish and mussel projections in the Northeastern United States at the HUC12 scale under different climate and land use scenarios

These data comprise the results of an analysis to 1. develop freshwater fish and mussel models using survey occurrence data, land use data, stream flow data, and stream temperature data within the Northeast United states, 2. predict the impacts of climate change on vulnerable groups of freshwater fish and mussel species, and 3. assess the potential for different management interventions...

Abundance, occupancy and habitat data recordings for Coqui Llaneros near Caño Tiburones; Arrecibo, Puerto Rico Abundance, occupancy and habitat data recordings for Coqui Llaneros near Caño Tiburones; Arrecibo, Puerto Rico

The Coquí Llanero (Eleutherodactylus juanariveroi) is one of twelve remaining species of Eleutherodactylus frogs endemic to Puerto Rico. They are known only from three isolated populations separated from each other by ~30 km: Caño Tiburones, Arecibo; Sabana Seca, Toa Baja, and Carolina. These frogs are cultural icons and hold prominent roles in the energy flow of the island’s tropical...

PFAS in largemouth bass (Micropterus nigricans) and banded killifish (Fundulus diaphanus) from Select Waterbodies in Massachusetts PFAS in largemouth bass (Micropterus nigricans) and banded killifish (Fundulus diaphanus) from Select Waterbodies in Massachusetts

This study assessed site-specific differences in PFAS in fish from Ashumet Pond (2020 & 2022), Sudbury River (2023), and Great Herring Pond (reference site; 2022) in Massachusetts. Largemouth bass were collected from all sites and banded killifish were collected from Ashumet Pond only. Health assessments were performed and included histology of the liver, spleen, kidneys, gonad, and any

Coastal Land-Cover and Feature Datasets Derived From Landsat Satellite Imagery, Sabine Pass to Bay Coquette, Louisiana Coastal Land-Cover and Feature Datasets Derived From Landsat Satellite Imagery, Sabine Pass to Bay Coquette, Louisiana

This data release serves as an archive of coastal land-cover and feature datasets derived from Landsat satellite imagery from Sabine Pass to Bay Coquette, Louisiana (LA). A total of 179 images acquired between 2013 and 2024 were analyzed. Water, bare earth (sand), and vegetated land-cover classes were mapped using (1) successive thresholding and masking of the modified normalized...

Surface and shallow subsurface thermal maturity data for the Arkoma basin, Ouachita Mountains, and Ozark dome region of the U.S.A. Surface and shallow subsurface thermal maturity data for the Arkoma basin, Ouachita Mountains, and Ozark dome region of the U.S.A.

Thermal maturity data (vitrinite reflectance (VRo)) from the Arkoma basin, Ouachita Mountains, and Ozark dome region of the U.S. Data were originally collected in graduate student theses and dissertations, and in a research consortia ca. 1980-1990 under the advisement and leadership of David Houseknecht during his time at University of Missouri. Location data were originally in Township...

Above-water hyperspectral field spectroscopy and associated water quality measurements in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, California, collected in 2024 and 2025 Above-water hyperspectral field spectroscopy and associated water quality measurements in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, California, collected in 2024 and 2025

Broad-area, high-resolution, boat-based water quality mapping surveys of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta (Delta) were conducted in June and September of 2024. Each survey was comprised of one day of high-resolution mapping. The regions covered included Discovery Bay and Old and Middle Rivers in the South Delta Tidal Transition Zone. On each day, the route of the mapping survey was...

Estimated crop irrigation water use withdrawals in Big Chino Groundwater Subbasin of the Verde River Groundwater Basin, Arizona for 2024 Estimated crop irrigation water use withdrawals in Big Chino Groundwater Subbasin of the Verde River Groundwater Basin, Arizona for 2024

Observations of irrigated agricultural land within the Big Chino Groundwater Subbasin of the Verde River Groundwater Basin in Arizona. Crops were verified in situ once in 2024 on Aug 14th; based on digitized field boundaries. Field boundaries were digitized from U.S. Department of Agriculture, National Agriculture Imagery Program County Mosaic 2023 imagery for Arizona and supplemented...

Supporting Datasets and R Code for Compound Flood Hazard Modeling in the New York - Long Island Sound Region Supporting Datasets and R Code for Compound Flood Hazard Modeling in the New York - Long Island Sound Region

This data release includes a shapefile of compound flood hazard scores and the associated input data, scripts, and a sample output file necessary for calculating rain-surge return period adjustments for Long Island Sound and its surrounding areas. The raw input data and imputation scripts are included in this data release and are located in the "Imputation and data compilation.zip"...

Soil depth layer for the Greater Everglades Soil depth layer for the Greater Everglades

The Everglades Vulnerability Analysis (EVA) is a series of connected, modular Bayesian networks that predict the response of several Everglades indicators of ecosystem health to changes in hydrology, salinity, and the landscape. We created a soil depth layer for use in the sawgrass peat module by using universal kriging to estimate soil depth at a 400-meter resolution for individual...

Cosmogenic Nuclide, Thermally Transferred Optically Stimulated Luminescence, and Paleomagnetic data from cave sediments from Fitton Cave, northern Arkansas Cosmogenic Nuclide, Thermally Transferred Optically Stimulated Luminescence, and Paleomagnetic data from cave sediments from Fitton Cave, northern Arkansas

This data release contains tabular data (comma-separated-value format) obtained for analyses of cosmogenic nuclides, thermally transferred optically stimulated luminescence, and paleomagnetism that were collected to constrain the age of sediments within Fitton Cave, Buffalo National River, north-central Arkansas.
