Have you ever seen a map that shows not only the location of features on the Earth, but also how high or low they are? This information is known as topography, and maps which display elevation information are called topographic maps.

Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) data have been enhanced to fill areas of missing data (Void Filled) to provide more complete digital elevation data with a resolution of 1 arc-second (~ 30 meters) and 3 arc-seconds (~ 90 meters) for global coverage.
