The New England Water Science Center monitors, analyzes, and communicates information on the quality and movement of surface water and groundwater within the states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. We provide reliable scientific information to the public and partner with Federal, State, Tribal, and local cooperators to inform water resource management and policy decisions. Serving our communities from five offices across New England, we study the hydrologic challenges associated with this region’s varied landscapes to improve human and ecological health.
