Data

The USGS Washington Water Science Center currently operates over 380 data-collection sites in Washington.  The sites collect surface water, groundwater, water quality and meteorological data that are available in real time.  Current and historical data can be retrieved from Water Data for the Nation and the National Water Dashboard.

Separately published data releases are listed below.

Groundwater, Surface water and Tidal Time Series Data at OU1 Naval Base Kitsap, Keyport, WA Groundwater, Surface water and Tidal Time Series Data at OU1 Naval Base Kitsap, Keyport, WA

This Data release includes time series data collected at Operable Unit 1, Naval Base Kitsap, Keyport, WA and bounding surface water bodies over a 3 week period from 07/12/2018 to 08/08/2018. Groundwater altitudes in nineteen monitoring wells and surface water altitude and water quality parameters in five surface water bodies were monitored. Time series data were collected covered a...

Groundwater and Tidal Time-Series Data, Bremerton Naval Complex, Bremerton Washington Groundwater and Tidal Time-Series Data, Bremerton Naval Complex, Bremerton Washington

This data release includes time series data collected at the Bremerton Naval Complex, Bremerton WA. Groundwater levels and water quality parameters in two monitoring wells were recorded every 15 minutes during a 7-month deployment. Time series data were collected from June 29, 2018, to February 26, 2019. Field deployment details and quality assurance methods are included in the following

Velocity and Bathymetry Surveys of the Columbia River near Northport, Washington, May 2018 Velocity and Bathymetry Surveys of the Columbia River near Northport, Washington, May 2018

Boat-mounted acoustic doppler current profilers (ADCPs) were used to collect velocity data on the Columbia River in a small area near Northport, WA. Velocity surveys were collected during two surveys at high-flow, high-stage conditions in May 2018. Bathymetric data were also collected during one of the surveys using a single-beam echo-sounder. The datasets here provide 1) raw ADCP and...

Groundwater and Tidal Time Series Data, Operable Unit 2, Area 8, Naval Base Kitsap, Keyport, Washington Groundwater and Tidal Time Series Data, Operable Unit 2, Area 8, Naval Base Kitsap, Keyport, Washington

This Data release includes time series data collected at Operable Unit 2, Area 8, at Naval Base Kitsap, Keyport, WA. Groundwater elevations and water quality parameters in five monitoring wells, along with tide levels in Port Orchard Bay, were monitored every 15 minutes during a 3-week duration. Time series data were collected from October 24, 2017, to November 16, 2017, a period that...

Measures of the vulnerability of runoff to drought during 2015 in the western United States Measures of the vulnerability of runoff to drought during 2015 in the western United States

Measures used to assess the vulnerability of streamflow in 326 river basins to the 2015 drought in the western United States.

MODFLOW-NWT model used to simulate groundwater storage changes in the Quincy Basin, Washington MODFLOW-NWT model used to simulate groundwater storage changes in the Quincy Basin, Washington

A three-dimensional, groundwater flow model (MODFLOW-NWT) was developed to examine groundwater storage changes in the Quincy Basin, Washington. The model was calibrated to conditions from 1920 to 2013. The model was used to (1) determine the change in groundwater storage from 1920 to 2013 , and (2) simulate the potential effects of increases in pumping.

NEET Circular Data NEET Circular Data

The NEET Circular report summarizes findings on processes that influence nutrients and how nutrient enrichment can alter biological communities in agricultural streams. These findings are relevant to local, state, regional, and national decision-makers involved in efforts to (1) better understand the influence of nutrients on agricultural streams, (2) develop nutrient criteria for...

Data on Midwest stream diatom and stressors, 2013 Data on Midwest stream diatom and stressors, 2013

The objective of this study was to assess the comparative influence of multiple stressors on benthic diatoms at 98 sites that spanned a range of stressors that occurred in an agricultural dominated region in the upper Midwest, USA. The primary stressors of interest included: nutrients, herbicides and fungicides, sediment, and streamflow; though the influence of physical habitat was...

Influence of urbanization on the health of juvenile salmonids in Pacific Northwest perennial streams Influence of urbanization on the health of juvenile salmonids in Pacific Northwest perennial streams

Physical and chemical changes affect the biota within urban streams at varying scales ranging from individual organisms to populations and communities creating complex interactions that present challenges for characterizing and monitoring the impact on species utilizing these freshwater habitats. Salmonids, specifically cutthroat trout (Oncorhynchus clarkii) and coho salmon (Oncorhynchus...

Surface-Water for Washington Surface-Water for Washington

Real-time, daily, peak-flow, field measurements, and statistics of current and historical data that describe stream levels, streamflow (discharge), reservoir and lake levels, surface-water quality, and rainfall in Washington. Surface-water data are collected and stored as either discrete field-water-level measurements or as continuous time-series data from automated recorders.

Data for Turbidity, Discharge, and Suspended-Sediment Concentrations and Loads, Duwamish River, Tukwila, Washington Data for Turbidity, Discharge, and Suspended-Sediment Concentrations and Loads, Duwamish River, Tukwila, Washington

This data release includes turbidity, discharge, suspended-sediment concentration (SSC) and particle-size data that were collected by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) between February 2013 and January 2017 at the Duwamish River, Washington, within the tidal influence at river kilometer 16.7 (USGS site 12113390; Duwamish River at Golf Course at Tukwila, WA). Additionally included in this...
