Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

U.S. Geological Survey GAGES-II time series data from consistent sources of land use, water use, agriculture, timber activities, dam removals, and other historical anthropogenic influences
This product is a series of ten datasets containing tabular data from historical time series sources for the 9,067 conterminous United States sites in the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Geospatial Attributes of Gages for Evaluating Streamflow II (GAGES-II) dataset. The tables contain time-series data derived from consistent sources of agricultural commodities such as crop types, irrigation, and liv
Anomalous bioaccumulation of lead in the earthworm Eisenoides lonnbergi (Michaelsen)
This data set includes metal concentrations measured in a species of earthworm (Eisenoides lonnbergi) collected at various locations on the Patuxent Wildlife Research Center.
Exposure of Peromyscus leucopus to lead and cadmium in the Southeast Missouri Lead Mining District
The exposure of white-footed mice (Peromyscus leucopus) to lead and cadmium and the potential associated toxic effects were examined at three sites contaminated with lead in the Southeast Missouri Lead Mining District and at a reference site. Mice from the contaminated sites showed evidence of oxidative stress and red-blood cell δ-aminolevulinic acid dehydratase (ALAD) activity was depressed by an
Operation Basement: Missouri Precambrian Sample Database
In 1968, the Missouri Geological Survey (MGS) established the Operation Basement program to address three objectives: a) to obtain drill hole and underground mining data relative to the structure and composition of the buried Precambrian basement; b) to expand mapping in the Precambrian outcrop area and conduct research related to Precambrian geology and mineral resources; and c) to publish the re
Data for relationships between fish assemblages and acid-base chemistry in streams of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, 1993-2014
Fish community richness, density, and biomass for entire communities, Brook Trout, Rainbow Trout, and minnows, including site characteristics, and water chemistry (acid neutralizing capacity, pH, nitrate, sulfate, ammonia, calcium, and total aluminum) collected at least once and as many as 13 times at each of 52 stream sites during the same years that fish were inventoried, Great Smoky Mountains N
Data Release of Vs30 Estimates Using Multiple Methods at 6 SCSN Stations
The dataset is consisted of travel-time records (vs30data.SCE.FINAL01_DATA.zip) in SEG2 format recorded using multi-station arrays near 6 seismographic stations located in southern California. A table in the spreadsheet (vs30data.SCE.FINAL01.xlsx) summarizes the data collection. Included in the dataset are figures showing incremental results supporting the resultant modeled shear-wave velocity (Vs
Annual California Sea Otter Census - 2017 Spring Census Summary
The spring 2017 mainland sea otter count began on April 30, and although the shore-based counts were completed by May 12, 2017, the aerial counts were not completed until July 12, 2017. Overall viewing conditions this year were good, although not as good as conditions experienced during the 2016 spring census (View Score 2.4 versus 3.1, where 0=poor, 1=fair, 2=good, 3=very good, and 4=excellent).
Biogeochemical analyses of water samples collected in the mudstone aquifer underlying the Naval Air Warfare Center, West Trenton, NJ (2008-2013)
This data set presents results from the analyses of groundwater water samples collected from monitoring wells and monitoring intervals in bedrock wells in the mudstone aquifer underlying the former Naval Air Warfare Center (NAWC), West Trenton, NJ. The water samples were collected between 2008 and 2013 and were analyzed for field parameters, inorganic and organic constituents, and the abundances o
Northeastern Hydrologic Benchmark Network (HBN) Soil Chemistry and Catskill Mountain Water-Quality Data
This data product contains soil chemistry data from 4 locations. Two of the locations were located in the Neversink River watershed near Claryville, NY (01435000) in the Catskill Mountains of New York (Fall Brook and Winnisook Creek), 1 of the locations was the Young Womans Creek watershed near Renovo, PA (01545600) and the last site was the Wild River watershed at Gilead, Maine (01054200). Soil c
Source and model output layers used for the prediction and display of the probability of elevated concentrations of redox-sensitive constituents in groundwater in the Fox-Wolf-Peshtigo watershed in Wisconsin and Michigan
This USGS data release contains 1-kilometer resolution source-layer rasters used to predict redox conditions and contaminant concentrations in groundwater in the Fox-Wolf-Peshtigo watershed in Wisconsin and Michigan using random forest classification. The model output layers are 1-kilometer resolution rasters of the predicted probability of elevated concentrations of nitrate, iron, and arsenic. Th
Radio telemetry data on nighttime movements of two species of migratory nectar-feeding bats (Leptonycteris) in Hidalgo County, New Mexico, late-summer 2004 and 2005
These bat location estimates have been reported by Bogan and others (In press) and come in the form of a GIS shape file. Three species of nectar-feeding phyllostomid bats migrate north from Mexico into deserts of the United States (U.S.) each spring and summer to feed on blooms of columnar cacti and century plants (Agave spp). However, the habitat needs of these important desert pollinators are p
Estimated Use of Water by Subbasin (HUC8 and HUC12) in the Delaware River Basin, 2010
These datasets present offstream water use estimates from 2010 which are aggregated to the 8-digit and 12-digit (subwatershed) hydrologic unit level for the Delaware River Basin. The data support USGS Scientific Investigations Report 2015-5142.
