Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Streamflow regressions and daily mean streamflow estimates for Kootenai River tributaries near Bonners Ferry, Idaho (ver 2.0, January 2023) Streamflow regressions and daily mean streamflow estimates for Kootenai River tributaries near Bonners Ferry, Idaho (ver 2.0, January 2023)
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the Kootenai Tribe of Idaho, used streamflow measurements at 14 partial-record sites and related them to nearby USGS real-time streamgages (index sites) to provide daily mean streamflow values at ungaged (partial-record) sites. Daily mean streamflow was estimated by developing a regression relationship between streamflow at each...
Electrical and electromagnetic geophysical surveys at Jim Woodruff Lock and Dam, Chattahoochee, Florida, March 2018 Electrical and electromagnetic geophysical surveys at Jim Woodruff Lock and Dam, Chattahoochee, Florida, March 2018
Surface electrical resistivity tomography (ERT), electromagnetic induction (EMI), and self-potential (SP) data were acquired March 9 - 20, 2018 by the U.S. Geological Survey, in collaboration with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, at the Jim Woodruff Lock and Dam near Chattahoochee, Florida. Eleven ERT profiles were acquired along the right (west) abutment, and immediately downstream, of...
Genetic Data from Cooper's Hawks (Accipiter cooperii), North America Genetic Data from Cooper's Hawks (Accipiter cooperii), North America
This data set describes nuclear microsatellite genotypes derived from six autosomal loci (AgCA222, Age7.1JT, BV13, BV20, NVH206, NVH195-2) in Cooper's Hawks. Samples originated from blood samples collected from live trapped birds.
Measurements of Surfbirds (Calidris virgata), Southcentral Alaska 1997-1999 Measurements of Surfbirds (Calidris virgata), Southcentral Alaska 1997-1999
These morphometric data are in two tables from surfbirds (adults and chicks) captured at two locations in southcentral Alaska, 1997-1999.
North American Grid-Based Offshore Sampling Frames North American Grid-Based Offshore Sampling Frames
This sampling frame is a set of grid-based, finite-area frames spanning the offshore areas surrounding Canada, the United States, and Mexico, and is intended for use with the North American Bat Monitoring Program (NABat). NABat is a continental collaboration including state and provincial, federal, and local agencies intended to standardize the collection and storage of bat data. Alaskan...
Clusters of monthly streamflow values with similar temporal patterns at 555 HCDN sites for the period 1981 to 2019 Clusters of monthly streamflow values with similar temporal patterns at 555 HCDN sites for the period 1981 to 2019
This data release identifies 555 Hydro-Climatic Data Network (HCDN) streamgages in the conterminous United States during the period 1981-2019 which were grouped according to similarity in their temporal patterns of monthly streamflow.
Phytoplankton identification and biovolume data for field samples from Detroit Lake, Oregon, and Owasco Lake, New York, collected in August 2019 and August 2020 Phytoplankton identification and biovolume data for field samples from Detroit Lake, Oregon, and Owasco Lake, New York, collected in August 2019 and August 2020
This dataset contains taxonomic and biovolume data for phytoplankton sampled from Detroit Lake, OR, in August, 2019, and August, 2020. Taxonomy is reported to the lowest possible taxonomic level along with total and percent biovolume. Surface grab samples for phytoplankton enumeration were collected with a van Dorn type sampler and then transferred into a clearn polycarbonate churn...
Interannual Breeding Movements of Brown Pelicans in the South Atlantic Bight Interannual Breeding Movements of Brown Pelicans in the South Atlantic Bight
This dataset contains locations acquired from GPS-tagged Brown Pelicans in the South Atlantic Bight. Locations correspond to the movements of pelicans tracked for greater than 1 reproductive attempt, and include only locations from May - July of each year, with the goal of identifying likely nest locations using GPS data.
Surrogate regression models for computation of time series suspended-sediment concentrations, Chester County, Pennsylvania (2020) Surrogate regression models for computation of time series suspended-sediment concentrations, Chester County, Pennsylvania (2020)
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the Chester County Water Resources Authority (CCWRA), has collected discrete stream samples for analysis of suspended-sediment concentrations at seven gaging stations where near real-time continuous data on stream discharge, and turbidity have been collected since 2005. Historical regression equations to estimate suspended-sediment
Bed material transport data in the upper Esopus Creek watershed, Ulster and Greene Counties, NY, 2017-2020 Bed material transport data in the upper Esopus Creek watershed, Ulster and Greene Counties, NY, 2017-2020
The U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with Ashokan Watershed Stream Management Program, investigated the feasibility of bedload monitoring in the upper Esopus Creek watershed, Ulster and Greene Counties, New York (NY), from 2017 to 2020. Traditional bedload samples were collected at two locations: Birch Creek at Big Indian, NY, and Stony Clove at Jansen Rd at Lanesville, NY. Active...
Lithologic classifications of river gravels in the Sauk River watershed Lithologic classifications of river gravels in the Sauk River watershed
The rock type, or lithology, of river gravels provides information about the bedrock source area of that material, and can act as a tracer to help assess relative gravel contributions from tributaries or distinct valley deposits. Between July 2020 and August 2021, gravels at 29 sites in the Sauk, Suiattle and White Chuck rivers were collected and sorted into simple lithologic categories...
Database of Cienega Locations in Southwestern United States and Northern Mexico Database of Cienega Locations in Southwestern United States and Northern Mexico
Cienegas, as defined here, are wetlands in arid and semi-arid regions associated with groundwater or lotic components that ideally result in perennial waters on temporal scales of decades to centuries. Cienegas are typically no lower than 0 m, and higher than 2000 m, rarely lower but sometimes higher elevation localities occur. Cienegas are typified by significant differences in flora...
