The National Volcano Early Warning System Advisory Committee (NVEWSAC) was created in 2019 by legislation authorizing the National Volcano Early Warning System (NVEWS).
The Committee provides advice and recommendations to the Secretary of the Interior through the Director of the U.S. Geological Survey on the implementation of the National Volcano Early Warning System. The Committee’s membership and procedures are compliant with the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA).
NVEWSAC meetings are announced on this website, and also published in the Federal Register in compliance with the notification requirement of section 10(a)(2) of the FACA.
