Stomach contents from a blue catfish (Ictalurus furcatus) caught in the Potomac River near Nanjemoy, Maryland in March 2024.  The contents of a blue catfish's stomach often include a variety of clams, crabs, mussels and fish.

Mitten crabs (Eriocheir sinensis) are medium-sized crabs with mitten-like claws. They live in freshwater but need saltwater to reproduce.
