Soil-Water Balance Groundwater Recharge Model Results for the Upper Colorado River Basin

This USGS Data Release represents Soil-Water Balance (SWB) groundwater recharge modeling results for the Upper Colorado River Basin (UCRB). The data release was produced in compliance with 'open data' requirements as way to make the scientific products associated with USGS research efforts and publications available to the public. There are 3 separate datasets associated with this Data Release: 1.

EAARL Coastal Topography-Northwest Florida, Post-Hurricane Katrina, 2005

These datasets, prepared by the U.S. Geological Survey St. Petersburg Coastal and Marine Science Center, provide lidar-derived first-surface and bare-earth topography for a portion of northwest Florida. Elevation measurements were acquired by the Experimental Advanced Airborne Research Lidar (EAARL) in September 2005, immediately following Hurricane Katrina landfall.

Glacier margin time series (1966, 1998, 2005, 2015) of the named glaciers of Glacier National Park, MT, USA

This dataset was created to develop a time series and history of glacier recession in Glacier National Park (GNP), Montana, USA. The dataset delineates the 1966, 1998, 2005 and 2015 perimeters of the 37 named glaciers of Glacier National Park and two additional glaciers on U.S. Forest Services Flathead National Forest land (the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex) which borders GNP to the south. Estab

Groundwater discharge areas for the 14 hydrographic areas in the middle Humboldt River Basin, north-central Nevada

This data set contains polygons representing the groundwater discharge areas for the 14 hydrographic areas in the middle Humboldt River Basin, north-central Nevada.

Geomorphic Process from Topographic FormData & Models

The repeat topographic datasets used here are digital surface models (DSMs) derived using automated photogrammetry from photographs captured via aerial overflights during May 2002, 2009, and 2013. During overflights, discharge from Glen Canyon dam was held steady at 226 m3/s, and all subsequent analyses presented here apply to stages above this constant low flow discharge. DSMs are unique from tra

Hurricane Matthew Overwash Extents

The National Assessment of Coastal Change Hazards project exists to understand and predict storm impacts to our nation's coastlines. This data defines the alongshore extent of overwash deposits attributed to coastal processes during Hurricane Matthew.

Coral growth parameters and seawater chemistry from Kahekili, west Maui, Hawaii

This data release contains time-series of seawater carbonate chemistry variables, including salinity, dissolved inorganic nutrients, pH, total alkalinity, and dissolved inorganic carbon, from sites along Kahekili Beach Park, Kaanapali, west Maui. It also contains data from coral cores collected from the shallow reef at Kahekili in July 2013 and analyzed for coral growth parameters (tissue thicknes

Gulf Watch Alaska, Nearshore Monitoring Component: Sea Otter Foraging Observations from Prince William Sound, Katmai National Park and Preserve, and Kenai Fjords National Park, 2012-2016

This data is part of the Gulf Watch Alaska (GWA) long term monitoring program, benthic monitoring component and a seasonal diet study in Kenai Fjords National Park. The dataset is a comma separated file exported from a Microsoft Access database. The data consists of observations made of foraging sea otters (Enhydra lutris). Observers used Questar field model spotting scopes and binoculars to ident

Supplementary Data for Method for Quantifying Cloud Immersion in a Tropical Mountain Forest Using Time-Lapse Photography

These data are mean temperature, relative humidity, dew point and cloud immersion with hour of day for sites in El Yunque National Forest, Puerto Rico. These data support the following publication: Bassiouni, M., Scholl, M.A., Torres-Sanchez, A.J., Murphy, S.F., in review, A Method for Quantifying Cloud Immersion in a Tropical Mountain Forest Using Time-Lapse Photography, Agricultural and

North American Breeding Bird Survey Dataset 1966 - 2016, version 2016.0

The 1966-2016 North American Breeding Bird Survey dataset contains avian point count data for more than 700 North American bird taxa (primarily species, but also some races and unidentified species groupings). These data are collected annually during the breeding season, primarily June and May, along thousands of randomly established roadside survey routes in the United States and Canada. Routes

Evaluation of Radon Occurrence in Groundwater from 16 Geologic Units in Pennsylvania, 19862015, with Application to Potential Radon Exposure from Groundwater and Indoor Air (PaRadonGW)

Results from 1,041 groundwater samples (U.S. Geological Survey, 2016) collected during 1986‒2015 from 16 geologic units in Pennsylvania, associated with 25 or more groundwater samples with concentrations of radon-222, were evaluated to create this dataset in an effort to identify variations in radon-222 activities or concentrations and to classify potential radon-222 exposure from groundwater and

Serum biochemistries of Pacific black brant

The data set contains results for nine serum biochemistries in molting Pacific black brant (Branta bernicla nigricans). These data were used to calculate reference intervals (sometimes referred to as normal values) for the nine serum biochemistries. All brant were after-hatch year. All samples were collected in 2006 and 2007 in the Teshekpuk Lake Special Area, Alaska.
