Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Hydrogeological and climatic data related to recent (1970-2022) development of the Troublesome Aquifer in the Greater Pole Creek Basin, Grand County, Colorado Hydrogeological and climatic data related to recent (1970-2022) development of the Troublesome Aquifer in the Greater Pole Creek Basin, Grand County, Colorado
The upper portion of the Troublesome Aquifer is the sole source of water for domestic use in the Greater Pole Creek Basin, situated in the western portion of the upper Fraser River Valley in Grand County, Colorado. Data from drilling records for wells installed near and within recent home developments, municipal water-suppliers, water-quality records, and published reports are summarized...
Tephra data for Inyo domes, California Tephra data for Inyo domes, California
Data on tephra thicknesses for the Inyo eruptions from Miller (1985) and Bursik and Sieh (2013) are combined to produce revised isopach maps for the South Deadman vent, Obsidian Flow vent, and Glass Creek vent. Volumes are calculated for the four sets of isopachs, and the total tephra volume is calculated to be 0.21 cubic km. The Miller (1985) data are obtained from field maps and...
Geodatabase and raster datasets for the potentiometric-surface maps and depth-to-water surfaces of the Nacatoch and Tokio aquifers, 2017 Geodatabase and raster datasets for the potentiometric-surface maps and depth-to-water surfaces of the Nacatoch and Tokio aquifers, 2017
This data release contains the geodatabases and raster datasets used to construct the 2017 potentiometric‑surface maps and depth-to-water surfaces for the Nacatoch and Tokio aquifers. The datasets include: (1) groundwater‑level measurements and groundwater-altitude (GWA) from wells measured in 2017; (2) surface-water-altitude (SWA) from streamgages, if available, located within outcrop...
Elevation difference products, schematic flow path, and volume polygons for the August 15, 2023 debris flow in Tahoma Creek, Mount Rainier Elevation difference products, schematic flow path, and volume polygons for the August 15, 2023 debris flow in Tahoma Creek, Mount Rainier
This dataset includes digital surface model (DSM) products, photographs, and shapefiles associated with the August 15, 2023 debris flow in Tahoma Creek at Mount Rainier, Washington. In this study, we created a post-event DSM using The Surface Extraction with TIN-based Search-space Minimization (SETSM) algorithm (Noh and Howat, 2017) using WorldView-2 stereo images collected on July 14...
UAV Imagery and Topographic Data from Black Hollow 10 September 2025, upper Cache la Poudre River UAV Imagery and Topographic Data from Black Hollow 10 September 2025, upper Cache la Poudre River
This dataset contains a point cloud, digital elevation model (DEM), orthoimagery, and uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV) imagery covering 0.1 km2 of the Black Hollow drainage located along the upper Cache la Poudre River, in Larimer County, Colorado, USA. These products show erosional and depositional features, most notably wood jams (accumulation of large woody debris in a channel)...
Basin characteristics rasters for Texas StreamStats Basin characteristics rasters for Texas StreamStats
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), calculated several basin characteristic rasters as part of the Texas StreamStats application (U.S. Geological Survey, 2026). These rasters represent various environmental, geological, and land use attributes within the Texas StreamStats study area; they are applied in the StreamStats...
Digital elevation, flow-direction, flow-accumulation, and streamline rasters for Texas StreamStats Digital elevation, flow-direction, flow-accumulation, and streamline rasters for Texas StreamStats
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), prepared hydro-conditioned geographic information systems (GIS) data layers for use in the Texas StreamStats application (U.S. Geological Survey, 2026). This data release contains digital elevation, flow-direction, flow-accumulation, and streamline raster datasets at a 3-meter...
Environmental and drifting invertebrate prey characteristics used in drift-foraging bioenergetics models for Rainbow Trout Environmental and drifting invertebrate prey characteristics used in drift-foraging bioenergetics models for Rainbow Trout
These data were simulated to use in a conceptual paper that explores the impacts of temperature and drifting invertebrate prey assemblages on Rainbow Trout. Objectives of our study were to examine how warming-induced changes in invertebrate prey production and size structure may impact the growth rate and maximum body size of Rainbow Trout in freshwater ecosystems using drift-foraging
Image-based measurements made by multiple operators to test and refine a remote sensing approach for estimating river discharge via critical flow theory Image-based measurements made by multiple operators to test and refine a remote sensing approach for estimating river discharge via critical flow theory
This data release makes available the data used to test and refine a remote sensing approach for estimating river discharge via critical flow theory. In rivers where flow conditions are near critical and well-defined standing waves are present, discharge can be inferred from measurements of wavelength and channel width made on an image. The goals of the study were to: 1) evaluate the
Chemistry of groundwater, pore water, and surface water near wetland P1 in the Cottonwood Lake Study Area, Sutsman County, ND - August 2013 Chemistry of groundwater, pore water, and surface water near wetland P1 in the Cottonwood Lake Study Area, Sutsman County, ND - August 2013
Groundwater, soil pore water, and surface water were collected in and near wetland P1 in the Cottonwood Lake Study Area, Stutsman County, North Dakota in August 2013. Groundwater was collected from established wells (17, 18, and 22) via peristaltic pump. Surface water was collected from P1 ponded water via grab sample. Soil pore water was collected using drive point samplers and one...
Method development data – Stabilization of volatile silicon species in hydrofluoric acid (HF) digests of biological samples for HF-free silicon analysis by ICP-MS Method development data – Stabilization of volatile silicon species in hydrofluoric acid (HF) digests of biological samples for HF-free silicon analysis by ICP-MS
Experiments were conducted in the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Aqueous Trace Element Analysis Laboratory (ATEAL) in Denver, CO to support development and validation of a method for preparing biological materials for silicon analysis by solution phase inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). The objective was to stabilize volatile silicon species resulting from a digestion...
