topoView is an easy-to-use application for browsing the Historical Topographic Map Collection and US Topo maps

A simulation-based power analysis can be used to estimate the sample sizes needed for a successful monitoring program, but requires technical expertise and sometimes extensive computing resources. We developed a web-based lookup app, called TrendPowerTool.

This primer highlights methods used in regional and reach-scale assessments of fluvial erosion hazards (FEH) . Fluvial erosion includes bed erosion, meaning lowering of the bed of a stream, as well as bank erosion, which refers to the retreat of stream banks that occurs as a stream widens or migrates laterally.

This geonarrative combines the text and imagery of USGS Fact Sheet 3079 with additional supporting imagery. Except for (a) headings used to organize the text in the geonarrative, (b) an additional reference to support an image included in the geonarrative, and (c) the updated program name for the coastal and marine component of the USGS, the text is the same as that of USGS Fact Sheet 3079.

This application provides a set of interactive data visualization tools to explore datasets generated by USGS researchers for the RESTORE project. The purpose of this tool is to help stakeholders, decision makers and other interested users access these datasets and develop a better understanding of spatial and temporal streamflow patterns in the Lower Mississippi-Gulf Region.
