Using a geology-based assessment methodology, the U.S. Geological Survey assessed mean undiscovered, technically recoverable continuous resources of 1.5 billion barrels of oil and 4.6 trillion cubic feet of gas in the Upper Cretaceous Tuscaloosa marine shale in onshore and State waters of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida in the U.S. Gulf Coast region.
