Summer base-flow recession curves for Iowa streams

Effect of treated effluent diversion on Yahara River flow, Wisconsin
Before December 1958 the treated sewage effluent from the Madison, Wisconsin, metropolitan area was discharged into the Yahara River at the north end of Lake Waubesa, which is upstream from the USGS gaging station on the Yahara River near McFarland, Wis. Evaporation study in a humid region, Lake Michie, North Carolina
The mass-transfer and water-budget techniques of calibrating a reservoir for evaporation were evaluated through a study of Lake Michie, N.C. The techniques appear adequate for estimation of lake evaporation and net seepage in humid regions where lake storage is affected by streamflow and ground-water seepage, under conditions no more adverse than those affecting Lake Michie.

Color variations within glacial till, east-central North Dakota--A preliminary investigation
Color variations (orange zones within buff-colored till) in drift in east-central North Dakota are believed to represent two tills of separate origin. Mean size, standard deviation, and number and type of pebbles show greater difference between the two tills than do skewness, kurtosis, and partial chemical analyses.
