Sara Elizabeth Breitmeyer
Biography
Sara Breitmeyer is a chemist with the Water Mission Area in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. She completed a B.A. degree in Chemistry, and M.S. degree in Environmental Sciences. She supports New Jersey Water Science Center projects including advanced capabilities in modeling and the fate and effects of emerging contaminants, such as current-use pesticides, in the environment . She also supports the organic geochemistry project that specializes in the isolation and characterization of natural organic matter in surface water environments, and investigates interactions between natural organic matter and trace metal contaminants (e.g. mercury). The projects includes both field campaigns and fundamental lab studies. She has supported many USGS projects by providing validation of instrumental analysis, metals red-ox determinations, data collection, and data management strategies.
